Cop here only reason he stopped the guy is so that he wouldn't have to do the 3 hours of waiting
for DFS and medical examiner to come out there pronouce him dead and scrap up the mess just so he
could go back and do the 20 minute long piece of shit death report...secondly most suicide
attempties go to the hospital for medical examination not jail...

You don't get sent to jail for attempting to commit suicide. It's "illegal" to kill yourself,
meaning they will always try to stop you but no law will actually harm you. Worst you can get is
some mandatory therapy.

Assuming you actually did want to kill yourself, if you don't want the therapy then you would
explain to them that it was a momentary lapse of judgement, that you were going through a rough
patch but the cop who just saved your life snapped you out of it.
It's not like they'd throw you in a mental ward for attempted suicide unless you stupidly told
them you would jump off a bridge the moment you got out.
If you really wanted to kill yourself then you are more than welcome to after the ordeal is over.
Otherwise accept the essentially free counselling, it might save your life.

cops are cops because they love their job. They just hate that they see so much death. Its a
natural, expected reaction to loathe standing around after someone died, knowing you could have
prevented it.

In the United States and England, suicide is literally not against the law.
Just saying.
>> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:19 No.1957984
I think that cop was a pretty cool guy because if I was a bystander I'd hate to be splattered
with blood and have to witness some chump offing himself before I go to work.
You might all act tough and desensitized but I'd really rather not see a person turn in to a red
skidmark first thing in the morning.
That suicidal guy should've killed himself in his home, if anything. How selfish and
attenion-whorish to do it in a busy train-station.

I won't say I'm an expert in suicide, but I don't think you can fail a suicide attempt if you get
run over by a train.
You can fail the attempt at home though.
>Overdose.
Someone can see you or find you before you die and get your stomach pumped.
>Gun.
Can somehow fail and the damage can leave you brain damaged or something.
>Sharp objects.
Can easily fail and I don't think the dude wanted it to be painful as I think cutting yourself
might be a painful way to go.
>Jumping off roof.
There are cases of people surviving this.
You can also survive getting hit by a car as well.

personally i would be more pissed that he did it and would cause the station to close down for a

So you're saying it's more likely some omniscient being will stop you from overdosing in your own
private residence than some bystander stopping you from jumping in front of a train in a public
transit stop-off?
I mean, it's not like we just watched a flash of a failed train-station suicide attempt. Your
logic is COMPLETELY sound.
>> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:35 No.1958004
>>1958003
No. The guy in this flash was an idiot for trying to jump so close to someone.
If he knew what he was doing he would've probably waited on the next one as it seemed that he was
already at the edge. Especially with a cop there, I would've waited.

Depending on the circumstances you can be slapped with other charges, and aiding a suicide is
most definitely against the law. There's no law against suicide itself though since it would be a
pointless law. If you fail you didn't actually commit it. If you succeed there's nobody to
punish. That's why there's no law.
>>1957999
I'm with you. As someone with a close friend who offed himself years back, I can honestly say I
have no shits to give for people who are selfish enough to go that route. Even the most secluded
hermit tends to have a couple people in the world that'd miss them and willing to help with
whatever they're going through. You just have to reach out to those people. That's what friends
are for.

Exactly. The ones that piss me off the most are those that KNOW someone is there to help them

succeed.

It depends what the person is going through. Your own personal happiness is just that, something
personal you have to find for yourself. If you're not enjoying life, then yes you have to find
the changes you need to make to fix that. Killing yourself is just a permanent cowardly escape
though. Why kill yourself when you could just alter the way you live so you actually get
something out of it? Most suicidal people are just going through a rough patch they could very
much tough themselves through or are holding themselves to impossible standards they need to rid
themselves of and learn to live for themselves rather than quit trying. Even if you have no
friends, you have the potential to make friends. And if I've learned one thing over the years, it
is that there's tons of lonely individuals of both genders out there simply wishing they had
another to spend time with, doing whatever they like to. Individuals with income they'd happily
expend for a simple comfort of company.

Problem is you don't know me. I care about those that care about themselves and others.
Especially those that would at times put others over them or show some form of understanding to
others than act on just instinct or act towards something if there's something to gain out of it.
