It's "illegal" to kill yourself, meaning they will always try to stop you but no law will actually harm you. Worst you can get is some mandatory therapy. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:03 No.1957950 >>1957946 If I wanted to commit suicide and I was force to live and forced mandatory therapy and meds, I think I would hate life more. Just sayin' >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:06 No.1957953 >>1957934 right, because that guy thought of all that in that split second of life or death. Maybe that's what the guy thought afterward, but definitely not during. Also, another cop here. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:06 No.1957954 >>1957950 >forced yeah no. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:08 No.1957956 >>1957953 I know what the cop thought at that split second. "Shit! If I don't help him I will look like a douche! And I'm a cop! I'm awesome! I can't look like a douche! Help help help!" >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:11 No.1957961 >>1957950 Assuming you actually did want to kill yourself, if you don't want the therapy then you would explain to them that it was a momentary lapse of judgement, that you were going through a rough patch but the cop who just saved your life snapped you out of it. It's not like they'd throw you in a mental ward for attempted suicide unless you stupidly told them you would jump off a bridge the moment you got out. If you really wanted to kill yourself then you are more than welcome to after the ordeal is over. Otherwise accept the essentially free counselling, it might save your life. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:11 No.1957962 >>1957934 cops are cops because they love their job. They just hate that they see so much death. Its a natural, expected reaction to loathe standing around after someone died, knowing you could have prevented it. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:11 No.1957963 >>1957956 Wow. You are pathetic. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:12 No.1957966 >>1957961 Well yeah. If anyone would say they would try again after getting out would have to be an idiot. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:17 No.1957977 >>1957962 what? frankly I hate my job most under paid department any other in the state, under manned, under equipped, ya know it's bullshit when ya come into work and your personal 500 dollar car worked better than your squad car. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:19 No.1957981 In the United States and England, suicide is literally not against the law. Just saying. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:19 No.1957984 I think that cop was a pretty cool guy because if I was a bystander I'd hate to be splattered with blood and have to witness some chump offing himself before I go to work. You might all act tough and desensitized but I'd really rather not see a person turn in to a red skidmark first thing in the morning. That suicidal guy should've killed himself in his home, if anything. How selfish and attenion-whorish to do it in a busy train-station. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:24 No.1957992 >>1957984 This, fucking thank you, everyone go fucking home. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:26 No.1957995 >>1957992 I can hang out in this thread as long as I wa~Oh shit the cops! >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:27 No.1957997 >>1957984 I won't say I'm an expert in suicide, but I don't think you can fail a suicide attempt if you get run over by a train. You can fail the attempt at home though. >Overdose. Someone can see you or find you before you die and get your stomach pumped. >Gun. Can somehow fail and the damage can leave you brain damaged or something. >Sharp objects. Can easily fail and I don't think the dude wanted it to be painful as I think cutting yourself might be a painful way to go. >Jumping off roof. There are cases of people surviving this. You can also survive getting hit by a car as well. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:28 No.1957999 >>1957984 personally i would be more pissed that he did it and would cause the station to close down for a while making me late for work than anything else. i couldnt feel sorry for someone that wanted to off themselves. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:33 No.1958003 >>1957997 So you're saying it's more likely some omniscient being will stop you from overdosing in your own private residence than some bystander stopping you from jumping in front of a train in a public transit stop-off? I mean, it's not like we just watched a flash of a failed train-station suicide attempt. Your logic is COMPLETELY sound. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:35 No.1958004 >>1958003 No. The guy in this flash was an idiot for trying to jump so close to someone. If he knew what he was doing he would've probably waited on the next one as it seemed that he was already at the edge. Especially with a cop there, I would've waited. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:43 No.1958010 >>1957946 There is actually no law in any state that says it is illegal to kill yourself. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:48 No.1958016 >>1958010 Depending on the circumstances you can be slapped with other charges, and aiding a suicide is most definitely against the law. There's no law against suicide itself though since it would be a pointless law. If you fail you didn't actually commit it. If you succeed there's nobody to punish. That's why there's no law. >>1957999 I'm with you. As someone with a close friend who offed himself years back, I can honestly say I have no shits to give for people who are selfish enough to go that route. Even the most secluded hermit tends to have a couple people in the world that'd miss them and willing to help with whatever they're going through. You just have to reach out to those people. That's what friends are for. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:51 No.1958018 >>1958016 Exactly. The ones that piss me off the most are those that KNOW someone is there to help them out, but in the end they still go through with it without a damn about the aftermath when they succeed. >> [_] Anonymous 04/29/13(Mon)01:53 No.1958021 >>1958016 >Even the most secluded hermit tends to have a couple people in the world that'd miss them and |
