The man was in his face and shouted that he was a "Vietnam combat veteran". He was behaving

is not stupid for keeping to his training. Which, if you watch any other officer in a similar
situation. Their voices raise and they are authoritative. Placating hostile individuals is the
WORST thing you can do. You need to be an authority figure as a police officer.

Unstable and actively violent are the same. Giving people an individual response is what you do
