Flash is awful. It's terrible and never should have existed. HTML5 with web video formats for
raster video and SVG for vector graphics is the right way to do it. Flash would be sort of a good
idea, if it were supported across all platforms like Java, but it's not. Your coffee maker is not
going to run Flash code, nor is your iPhone or Android. HTML5 is fully supported on all good
browsers now. They support HTML5, CSS3, SVG, and web video and audio formats. All you need.

I'm confused, are you comparing flash to html5, or to java?
Why would you even compare it to java?
Their intended uses are wildly different.
Also adobe stopped supporting mobile entirely (for good reason), but you can still use the last
version for android without any issues.

This is true, I've always argued that flash was not well suited for the web.
However, it not only has significant usage in desktop application, but features a primarily
visual workflow that appeals to artists and animators.

You can make one HTML5 file, self contained. Also, no browser supports Flash. It has to be ADDED.
HTML5 and it's dependencies are FULLY supported NATIVELY on all good browsers. Flash is being
phased out. Flash will NEVER beat HTML5.
Also, you can't write a SWF in Nano. You can write an HTML5 game in Nano. (nano is a
command-shell text editor, for you Windows Flash nuts who don't know)

A good thing about flash is also that you know if it is working, unlike HTML5 which is supported
by many browsers but that still doesn't mean that the browser supports ALL the features. Then
some dick uses a tag that only 1/5 browsers support and 4/5 are complaining while the creator is
pissed of because he is sure it is working perfectly. Flash is simply good enough for now and
probably will be for some time. Besides why the fuck are you here on /f/ when so many webbsites
have switched to HTML5 and you can just browse and jerk off all over the new exciting features on
the webb
