It's always been 4 on /f/. People take longer porn vids etc and split it into 4 parts. Now these
cant be posted anymore, or we get even worse quality if people start splitting shit into 2
instead of 4.
All in all I think this is a really really poor decision and I'd really like to hear the
motivation for it. If it's because the board is moving too fast then I'd like to hear why the
number of active threads just wasn't increased instead.

It doesn't matter who's to blame. Someone will always spam.
It matters how the spam is handled.
Reducing the flash count per IP is the wrong move when there are so many better ways to deal with
it. I'm not pissed at person X for "forcing the admin to reduce the number of possible flash
uploads per ip", I'm more pissed at the admin for not being able to deal with the situation
better.
In short, it's the admin's fault that the number of flashes you can post has been cut in half,
not anybody else's.

That's another thing. I've been bugging him to increase the flash size for years and wen he
finally does we get a measly 2 MiB. It's better than 8 for sure but hardly cutting edge.
16 MiB max file size would be more fit for the year 2013, then we can at least post flashes like
wakfu.swf (that are already years old now).
So many great flashes can't be posted just because the max file size is so inadequate.

You could reduce this to 4*10 MiB = 40 MiB before.
Now it's 2*10 MiB = 20 MiB.

These 6 extra MiB aren't absolute. A lot of flashes below 10 MiB will still be posted. Many will

Well yeah, it could still be split into 4 but most people want to be able to post everything at
once and not post 2 parts one day and then 2 the next day. Almost nobody split movies into 5 or
more before today, therefore it's safe to assume the new split will be 2.
The thing about dynamic IP was surely considered, this thing is not to elliminate spam (next to
impossible) but to make it more tedius for spammers to post. After all, they now have to go
through the trouble of using twice as many proxies to get the same spam effect as before.
That being said, there are still better ways to deal with "spam" on /f/ than to decrease the
number of flashes each IP can upload.
