Your character build actually matters here - for example an elf or hobbit bard basically functionally can't win the game or even get further than the start in it while a Regeneration focused half-orc rogue or priest will plow way ahead of most characters. Also things like preprogrammed areas and enemies and there actually being such a thing as a battle which you can lose make discussing strategy (mainly different builds) and comparing characters meaningful.

Load it up in swfchan and your old save is intact.

For some completely unexplainable reason, the former one is one and a half levels ahead of the latter, with 7.5 vs. 6. I was expecting the one with more regeneration to thrive.
