Post-Modernism: the Daily Dose

Last time I checked, you go to university only if you want to, and you learn what you want to
learn.
Maybe "university" is a metaphor for something like peer pressure, TV news, shit food, a
misperceived "cultural poverty", being a plain and dumb moron, etc.

Well, the song was written in the 60s. I suppose back then university was more straightforward
than it is today.
The whole song is metaphor for pretty much what you'd expect, I doubt the lyrics are to be taken
literally, anyway.

American universities are pretty much run by the liberal agenda regardless of what state you live
in. And the way our society works you need to go to university to ever be looked upon as
something more than a failure regardless of how much you actually put in to the society as a
whole.

Protip: It doesn't matter how you think others look upon you; what matters is how you feel about
yourself.

protip: replace "Feel about yourself" with "be honest with yourself and know you are doing what
is right" and this is good advice.

Even if you learn what you want and become whatever you want you're still just the same like
everyone else.
You're just a person who helps society move forward until the day you die when society says it's
goodbye to you and you to it, before your kids and grandkids live on and do exactly the same
thing as you.
This applies to you a little less if you're in a non-socialistic country (like the US), but still
a little bit.
