"Enjoy feeling "Alone" and dying a pathetic accepting death." *Door shuts* "Dumb nigger." >> [_] Anonymous 08/27/13(Tue)07:46 No.2092121 The choice was too easy; "oh gee what should I do, try to save myself and possibly die or stay with the A.I, I've known for 3 seconds and die for sure? So long A.I., even a 3.7% chance of survival is better than a guaranteed 0% chance. Have fun melting." >> [_] Anonymous 08/27/13(Tue)07:55 No.2092125 >>2092063 My hangup was this: Imagine if the entire situation was a psychological experiment. What if the AI wasn't actually sentient, and the whole "I don't want to die alone" request was actually a pre-programmed response, the purpose of which was to see if sympathy could convince one to die for the sake of an artificial being. How could you disprove this claim? How would you find out if the AI was actually sentient. Personally, I'd do it by chatting it up. However, since this is just a flash game, the text bot is of course not sentient, and therefore I was not convinced. The purpose of the game was trounced by its own technical limitations, as I couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to decide that the AI was sentient and therefor had feelings worth any amount of sacrifice. Staying with LDAC would have been tantamount to dying alongside an insect with a "don't leave me :(" sign stuck to it. >> [_] Anonymous 08/27/13(Tue)08:00 No.2092127 >>2092125 Pretty much this. Most of the 'questions' it 'answers' are really just set off by key words or phrases. I didn't test the limitations of it, but I don't doubt that a large amount of the answers are just rigged to be used when you use a word or two, and a question mark. Gave me some feels, but I really wish it wouldn't be held back by the limitations. >> [_] Anonymous 08/27/13(Tue)08:05 No.2092129 I agreed to the chess game. Fuck. >> [_] Anonymous 08/27/13(Tue)08:10 No.2092130 >>2092127 Everything we create is held back by limitations. The point is holding back your disbelief and imagining a computer no different than a human mentally. You're afraid to die alone and it is too. Is the lack of a human form a deal breaker? >> [_] Anonymous 08/27/13(Tue)08:12 No.2092131 Beat it twice (both stayed and left) then went back a third time and insulted the fuck out of the computer for being a lying nigger. He left me alone and still died. This is the true ending. >> [_] Anonymous 08/27/13(Tue)08:14 No.2092132 i kept telling ti to fuck off, then it stopped talking to me. and i died without knowing whats happening >> [_] Anonymous 08/27/13(Tue)08:20 No.2092134 >>2092130 no, its the lack of sentience. it wasn't trying to learn from me. A sentient computer would have the same thoughts of an afterlife as i would and it would question itself incessantly. on top of which, it would freak out more than me. then I'd know it's sentient.
