No arguments, Mako fucking nailed Aku. And in this scene, I love how we get the concept, however
briefly, that Aku just wants it to fucking end. He knows Jack's quest is hopeless, aside from
possibly killing Aku in the future. And even that is unlikely. And he just wants to convince
Jack, that maybe they don't have to kill each other because ultimately, Aku just wants control,
not genocide.
And Mako sells it. That's the key. He sells it and he sells it damn well. For all of 5 seconds,
Jack has his moment of doubt. And in a children's cartoon, 5 seconds of genuine doubt is a
goddamn eternity.

Yeah it's pretty sweet. Altogether this felt like more chan a children's cartoon. it much a lot
of content that made it adult friendly too. And Jack was always so calm and collective, even when
in the worst of situations.

Actually, it was six seconds. Either way, it's just long enough for Jack to actually think about
what Aku was saying. What I don't get is why Aku didn't just poof right back and keep talking.
I mean, think about it. Knowing Aku, he and Jack might actually be able to get along, if they
could get over the whole Aku-Batman'd-Jack's-Past part...

I'm just upset that they were never actually able to finish the seires. Because I often wonder if
Jack could actually defeat Aku. Of course he writers would probably have somehow gave Jac the
upperhand in the end, I still wanna know.

I could see Aku doing something a long the lines of maybe creating a creature whos power he under
estimates and becomes stronger than him, this for a brief moment, he seeks Jacks help in stopping
it.

I'm upset about that, too.
Then again, the fact that the series REMAINS unfinished says something about this scene, and what
2138835 said - Jack's quest is hopeless; it's doomed to repeat forever. In some ways, Jack is a
tragic hero in this series; even the VILLAIN wants him to stop. Not for his sake, but for Jack's.
The series could literally go on until Jack dies of old age, considering how deeply set and
inflexible his personality is.
Jack's resolve to kill Aku hasn't wavered since day one. While this is admirable, it's completely
futile. And it's for this reason the show doesn't have an ending: Jack can't - and won't -
change; he will pursue Aku until the day he dies, and that's decades away, They can't kill each
other; Aku is too powerful and can run away too easily to recover, and Jack's too skilled - and
lucky - to be killed.

That, actually, is a paradox with a paradox for an answer.
The answer is "Everything, and yet nothing."

Yeah Jack would never actually live to see the day that Aku was defeated. In the end he is just a
very skilled man, and his sword couldn't possibly pierce and kill that which can shapeshift at
will, into anything, and in a matter of seconds, and is technically immortal.

>>2138959
Technically, you're wrong there; Jack's sword is just about the only thing that can actually hurt
Aku.

That voice was why I bothered to watch the Avatar series. That voice made it for me. They could
have farted the whole way through* and I still would've watched it.
*With the dialogue, they practically did.

Also if you think about it, Jack did almost kill Aku in the beginning of the show and a time
portal showed that he was predestined to come out victorious, just that it would take a while
longer.

Don't forget, you can muck with the future by changing the past. Jack and Aku repeatedly cross
through time and space, so there's no guarantee that the future where Jack wins even exists any
longer. And even if he does win, he's fucked with his own timeline so much that he can't prevent
Aku from causing the initial damage if he goes back to the past, nor can he alter his own
timeline any more.
...Know what, I'm gonna stop here before I start a discussion on the effects of time travel.

this. there was an episode where jack finds a stable portal to the past, but the portal's
guardian kicks the shit out of him. right before the guardian is about to kill jack, he sees that
a much older jack DOES end up going back in time. then the guardian sends a bird or something to
take jack away, saying that it's not time for him to go back yet.

I just realized Samurai Jack is a series about two Japanese characters speaking English.
