  say, something like the Disney Channel or Nickelodean couldn't do something like this, even
  though the maturity of the humor is on the same level as the shows that are on those channels.
  Basically, because of a difference in social norms and taboos, Japan is able to produce things
  that can't be done on American television. Whether you personally like it or not, it is something
  that's unique and different in the eyes of American viewers, and that uniqueness is what draws
  the fans.

  I'm not upset that people like what I don't like. I just don't like their justification they give
  for liking it. At least the /mlp/ folks are comfortable with the fact they're watching a show
  they realize is comedy on a level aimed at kids. I don't like that show either. But at least they

  Buy you're spot on with that sex is less a taboo in Japan. All those early ports of games had

  anime growing up. You know, Toonami. And there are a very select few anime titles that I have

  I didn't like the Hangover. But I probably would have liked it more if I hadn't seen 3 different
  trailers for it before the movie came out, 2 different trailers when the DVD came out and
  countless people telling me the jokes themselves. When I actually saw the movie I felt like I had
  seen it before. Trailers ruin comedies. I think Robot Chicken is funny sometimes. And yeah, it's
  a bit above anime in a maturity level. But it's still geared down a bit.

  I mean, I'm going to tell you that British comedy is all intelligent and that Monte Python is
  super smart, but stuff like Peep Show is quite a few levels ahead of anime. A show like, always
  sunny, yes that has people acting nuts. It has moments of, that would never happen. But not on a

  Anyway, there are plenty of really dumb show with bad comedy in the US. Whether is CBS with the

  to it. Anyway, I stand by my anime disney channel comparison. It honestly reminds me of a lot of

  I'm not going to say this is an easy question to answer. Clearly there's a difference between
  something like Dexter's Lab and something like Arrested Development. I think everyone can agree
  on that. Both shows I enjoyed, but one as a kid and another in high school/college. Where does
  anime style humor fit in? Somewhere in the middle imo. But they kind of gags and characters and
  subject matter, minus the sexual situations, really remind me of shows and characters from the

  The reason it was so awesome was the concept was genuine and new like Seinfeld.

  It had 4 guys for the first 6 seasons stuck on a ship, so they had a lot of sexual frusteration,
  and none were particularly mature so they did stupid stuff you and your friends would do in the
