looking for an as3 programmer to work on a similar platformer engine and help progress this game
(this one's a simple test in as2) got a new collision system in place but I'm not much of a
programmer myself so I'd like some help in making this happen.
here are some rough test animations with a new character model to show what kind of content would
be in the game:

I'm more than comfortable working at a reasonable pace as long as we're getting shit done, if I
can get a decent programmer who doesn't bail after a month or two then hopefully we should have
something good going for us. it would be interesting to add rpg elements, a branching storyline,
combat system, multiple characters with their own mechanics and the like, but I'd like to take
things one step at a time for now.

OK, one step at a time
What do you need at first? Or a better question: how far is your progress? Do you already know
how the game should be and what you have to do for it?

right now the most important thing is getting the feel of the game right, so the engine itself is
the top priority. I'm generally happy with the results I got in as2 and as tempting as it is to
convert several lines of code to as3 I'd rather have a more competent programmer help rewrite the
code altogether for efficiency's sake.
I was also using a state machine in as2 and I'm not 100% sure how to implement a similar system
in as3 what with the function loop changes.. so I'd rather not dive deeper than I should. I know
I'm bound to run into bigger issues in the future so I'd prefer to just work with someone who
actually knows what they're doing haha

movement and gravity/collision would come first, then jumping (which has separate velocity
friction) and then a refinement to the collision (assuming we'd start with something basic) since
no one wants to play with that buggy flash collision.
I found some interesting collision code that we could potentially work with here, try hitting the
block at high speeds:

like I said, I'm not a programmer. this isn't my forte but I can offer suggestions to bounce back
and forth to get the game to a satisfying stage.

overly smooth tweened "breathing" idle animations are the staples of any porn game.
