Wait until the ball is about to hit the guy (arrows will be full) and press the space bar. This
is a timing-based element; press space too late and the angle will be too high, press it too soon
and the angle will be too low. Either way, this reduces how far and how hard you can throw the
ball, so try to get the timing right (the meter on the right of the guy will read close to
horizontal if it's right).
If you screw up a toss, the ball will come rolling back to you. Your dude will be tired. Press
the N and B keys alternately to get him back up, then go back to using Space to catch the ball
and throw it back.
I may be forgetting something, but I can't think of what.

What I forgot is, after you catch the ball, rapidly press N and B alternating to build up the
throw power meter.
The lighter ball makes it easy to build up throw power, but does less damage. The heavy ball's
meter builds slowly, but it does much more damage. The middle ball is average.
