I live in 上海 and some of the things this guy says I really don't understand his accent. He starts urging students to make a stand at the end of the video but it gets cut off. >> [_] Anonymous06/28/12(Thu)23:28No.1709294 >># alright. sure there might be a point in whatever he is saying, but to make a stand against it? it's not exactly like you can go to some guy and he will fix some big system that covers the entire world. >> [_] Anonymous06/28/12(Thu)23:35No.1709299 >># That is the mentality that they protest. That you are a passive force, only repeating information to those higher than you so that they may act. He is urging people to act for themselves, for them not to rely on others to improve the future, but to improve it themselves. I have my reservations about the Zeitgeist movement, but that is one view of theirs that I find quite refreshing. >> [_] Anonymous06/29/12(Fri)00:00No.1709309 >># I'm honestly curious at how the world will turn out in 20-30 years time. So many things coming to a head. >> [_] Anonymous06/29/12(Fri)00:21No.1709326 >># Ditto. I'm 20, so I was born at the perfect time to see the full weight of the shift. I remember the 90s with it's prosperity and semi-tribal nationalistic mindset. I became of age in the 00s, when the internet brought about the new age of enlightenment and was promptly sold in the name of capitalistic consumerism. Now I'm going to be taking part in the 10s, what I hope to be a rebirth of the age of honor; individuals coming together peacefully to make a better life for all who wish to be involved. >> [_] Anonymous06/29/12(Fri)00:35No.1709339 >># hopefully, but i predict the future will be far less amicable >> [_] Anonymous06/29/12(Fri)00:53No.1709350 >># I'm a "passive force" because I can't see another working way for live than it pretty much is right now. No point in "realizing" that the world is "wrong" and go around having feelings about it and telling everybody how fucked up they are (or how passive they are). The fucks the point of that? It's like all these atheists that have made it their mission to disprove everybody's religion. Sure, point something out but don't try to force it into people's throats. Get something better to do with your time jeesh. >> [_] Anonymous06/29/12(Fri)01:02No.1709356 >># You obviously think you have everything worked out and that you can see the world for what it is. 20 years old, huh? Hah. After you've lived on this planed a full life time you can start analyzing stuff. You "remember the 90s"? You were bloody 8 years old when the 90s ended, you don't remember shit about it - only what other people has told you to remember. Seriously, you were born in the perfect time to see the "full weight of the shift"? What the heck are you thinking is going to happen? Fucking nothing, that is what's going to happen. The world is going to roll on as it always has, science will evolve and things will change. But a "shift"? Like something on TV where the people rise up, remove all money and join hands to sing below the rainbow? >> [_] Anonymous06/29/12(Fri)01:51No.1709399 I Tried finding this on youtube and just got this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pY1DC9Pm YU what the fuck >> [_] Anonymous06/29/12(Fri)01:58No.1709407 >># ITT: 16 Year old pretending to be an adult inb4 underage b& >> [_] Anonymous06/29/12(Fri)02:29No.1709426 >># Honestly, I do as well. Here's to fighting the good fight in hopes that we'll be wrong. >># If that's how you want to live, so be it. If that's the only way you think life can be lived, I'll have to respectfully disagree. As Anon here has so kindly pointed out, I'm barely on the path of adulthood, yet I live under my own terms (something so rare that the phrase has lost most of it's meaning). It's true that refusing to compromise my personal code of ethics has deprived me of many opportunities that more flexible people have taken, but I don't regret it. I'm in control of my own fate for now, and I'm proud of the choices I've made to get here. I am not the most wealthy or the most influential, but I have something much more valuable to me. (Cont.) >> [_] Anonymous06/29/12(Fri)02:31No.1709428 >># I'm happy. Specifically, I'm happy with my life as it is now, not as it was or as it might be. I don't live for a thrill of success in a life that I'm otherwise discontented with. Instead each day is a point of pride and smaller personal successes that I value greatly and would not trade. It's a life that's unappealing to many, but it's the life I have chosen; a choice I stand by. (Cont.) >> [_] Anonymous06/29/12(Fri)02:31No.1709429 >># In the end, isn't that what we all struggle so hard for? Choices? What else is choice but freedom in it's piecemeal form. Actual freedom, mind you, not what a nation will try to pass off on you. I have enough money to live relatively comfortably, but I don't have a boss who dictates how I work or what quality is acceptable. I do large amounts of my work drunk or high, simply because it's simple enough to get away with and it makes my life that much more enjoyable. My work is of high quality, my clients are more than satisfied and I would be willing to bet that I enjoy my work far more than most. All of this is relevant for one simple reason: Instead of letting others try to improve my life for me, I went out and improved it on my own. My income is unstable, my hours are few but greatly rewarding and my life belongs to me and me alone until I decide otherwise. Can you say that you're just as well off? |
