Exempt? No, but it would unlikely have anything to come out of it since she committed assault by
throwing the punch at the guy in the first place, if she connected it would be both assault and
battery. Frankly what would happen is both parties would probably have charges dropped against

both would guilty of assault charges. Generally seeing as nobody received significant injuries of
any sort most likely what happens is they drop the case against both parties because it's a

Well if you watch the video you'll see some guy with a bloody nose and a towel to his face, what
i can infer in that video is that she's the one who punched him in the face. Basically it's a
mess either way but i'm not familiar entirely with how US courts and systems would treat it but

That would only work on a "my opinion Vs. yours" type of lawsuit. The judge would have to either
call it off due to lack of evidence or use bias against one party. A proper judge would call it
moot unless there was physical or blatant damage, but because modern democracy has turned into
populism, most judges would favour the victim.

Yep. You can defend yourself until the threath (Read: Not Risk. You must be sure he's attacking
or about to attack you) is gone. Attacking after that would be dishonourful and could get you in
jail too.
However depending on the country the way you are allowed to eliminate a threath may vary. On some
countries that love their freedumbs you can literally shoot down someone because they punched
you. In countries that don't, killing a dude who brought a knife with a gun could get you years
in jail.
Ideally the best law situation would be being able to use letal force if a succesful attack can
be potentially gnashing, crippling or lethal. (IE some dude brings a knife or a Kung Fu master is
coming at you), but you are not allowed to shoot Average Joe he threw you a punch.
