The story makes a good point.
One thing however, is i'm highly offended by the word "Nigger" being used in the story. The
author did not need to use such foul language to make the point that racism is unjust and for the
unintelligent. I understand the author wanted to make his idea come out clearly, but using such a
foul word is a little bit much.

No, the point is that social pressures from an outside force CAN force someone to behave in a way
that is not in line with their beliefs, but it cannot change those core beliefs. The racist tree
is still racist, it just begrudgingly serves niggers now so that it isn't lonely.
Social progress is just people hiding their resentment where no one can see it because it isn't
considered proper and they fear reprisal. The people are now intolerant towards racists instead
of those of African descent, which may be slightly better since they can effectively hide their
scorned trait.
