it was this old nuclear test back in the mid to late 1950s to test for radiation poisoning. they
would go out into the middle of nowhere in some desert, get in a little trench they dug, wait for
the bomb to be dropped, then once the shockwave goes past, they get out of the trenches and walk
toward the blast to see if they would suffer any immediate radiation injuries. i forget the
operation name, im sure if you try to find it, youll get something
like every single soldier in the film is supposed to be dead, the radiation fucked them all up
