i dont really see how this relates to modern games?
does it have to do with steam sales or what?

I don't think it's steam sales he's making fun of. I think it's the entire rest of the gaming
industry right now. Yay release date DLC. Yay buying the same experience every year but acting
like it's new and fresh. Yay being a tool that just throws money at whatever's hyped. Listen, I
hate being an elitist 'HURRDURR-PC-MASURRR-RACE-GAIS!' type of person, and I believe if people
are actually buying that crap then it's no one's fault besides the people buying it and I have no
right to complain. But in terms of actual fresh ideas and gameplay that isn't exactly the same
shit as what I've played since I was 5 years old, I'm sorry but no one is doing anything
interesting besides these fucking indie-faggots on Steam as much as I hate to admit it. And
amongst the actual new fresh ideas is a LOT of hipster faggotry that is just the same crap as
what comes out on consoles, rehash, rehash, rehash, rehash with ULTRA STYLISH GRAPHICS!

ok, but i still wonder what the original uploader was thinking with the file name

virtual reality is around the corner, im sure we'll have some new experiences then. unfortunately
xbone and ps4 is too weak for it so it will probably take a while before any AAA game will be
built around virtual reality, since AAA games usually are built with console limitations in mind

comes.

Yeah! Lets play a game with virtual reality! Where the controls are 20 time worse than the
wiimote BUT WOAAAAAAAHHHHHH LOOK AT THE 3D GUIZE! xDDDXDDDD\

Not the other guy but you should check this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jgAJcmmlVs) out. It
seems to show a lot of promise.
Bonus: It's being developed by people who actually care so, it's sure to actually work when its
released as opposed to being excessively buggy or non-functional in general.

Why would I want to wave my head around in order to look when I can just press a button?
>> [_] Anonymous 01/13/15(Tue)02:26 No.2655990
>>2655985
Because mention of buttons is entirely unrelated to the topic of virtual reality (as was being
discussed).
If you don't want to wave your head, then don't. Use a mouse or controller.

But it has everything to do with virtual reality.
There's no point to using it when using buttons achieves all the same goals, BETTER.

>>2655992
I'm the faggot who typed the original unnecessarily long rant about everything being the same. I
have to disagree. Right NOW, you're definitely right, virtual reality is just a stupid gimmick
just like those 3D TVs and crap. But you don't think that in the future when they get a lot of it
more fine tuned it'll be more interesting?
>> [_] Anonymous 01/13/15(Tue)02:35 No.2655997
>>2655992
The point of VR is supposed to be the lack of buttons and moreso the use of the body to achieve
the same functions. It's kind of a 'do-it-yourself' kind of deal where people enjoy things more
if they are the ones doing that thing (throwing a pingpong ball into a cup rather than watching a
character throw it in for your).
It hardly matters that they'll fail throwing the ball in way more than the scripted event a
character would have on their side but it's more about them trying and eventually succeeding.

Even after it becomes perfect, it will still be inferior to buttons. Can you twist your head in a
circle 600 times? etc.
>>2655997
So the game shifts from actually playing the game to TRYING to play the game? No thanks.

>If you fail, it's your fault.
>If you succeed, it's because of you.
I'm starting to wonder if you understand what I'm getting at since you keep using words like
'better' and 'inferior' like these two things can be compared like that in a vacuum.
>inb4 trelelelelelelel 9 other tabs baited
>I'd rather have a guy who's clearly in better shape than me be the one running around shooting
people rather than actually being the guy who is in shape who runs around and shoots people.
To be entirely honest, I'd think it would be cool if the shooter scene benefited from full body
VR. Imagine people who are better at running than others but worse at shooting or vise-versa.
'skill' based gaming would never be the same.
>> [_] Anonymous 01/13/15(Tue)03:10 No.2656015

Addition: competitive gaming is becoming quite common and more folk are making a living from
going to tournaments and the like. Imagine the economic benefit for people who ordinarily
wouldn't be good at games without the 1:1 action transference apparatus that would be featured in
future VR.
Jobs would never be the same (well they would but some would change).

On the flipside, imagine all the people who are right on the verge of motion sickness in video
games, and whether VR would just cause a constant Family-Guy-style-puke-stream...
