We live in a rough world, Anon. At any point, there could be someone out there plotting to do
some harm and you happen to just be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
The point is, if you're expected to live in a society where you're told that you can be helped
and no such help exists in reality, then wouldn't you rather find a way to help yourself instead
if the need arises?
>> [_] Anonymous 02/19/15(Thu)20:11 No.2694038
you're sleeping outside in a public area and you're upset about a dude invading "your" space

Yes, that is the completely illogical, egotistical, moronic point they were trying to make. They
expect the police to be everywhere, do everything, or else they do nothing. And even if they did,
they would probably complain about the police doing so. And they're lucky to not have been shoot
by that intoxicated person, but now they're asking for people like him to just be walking around
with guns? Yeah, again, that is the completely illogical, egotistical, moronic point they were
trying to make.

No, they are asking for themselves; law biding citizens, to be able to carry around guns for
personal defense.
Why do you make the jump that they want to arm drunks and druggies? You think people want that?
No, but the fact of the matter is if someone had a knife or gun or hell a bat and they wanted to
do harm to you the best way to stop them is as many rounds center mass as possible.

What are you planning to do with the gun in such a situation?
Shoot him? Now you're an unjustified murderer, then you would have to make up a story about how
he attacked you, but it would be believable.
Brandish it or point it to scare him? If he meant you harm he could easily pretend to be scared,
run off, hide nearby and kill everyone when they're vulnerable. Plus, if he's high, he might not
even understand what you're doing.
No, what's needed in this situation is common sense. If you're going to sleep somewhere public,
you should understand that you're putting yourself at risk and you shouldn't rely on a weapon to
defend yourself. Every moment you encounter someone is a chance for you to die, we just assume
they wouldn't dare. That trust builds societies, but societies are just that - trust that can be
betrayed.

Yes, I know they weren't directly asking for the "offender" to be armed, but they were requesting
for it to be legal to be armed in that area and others to be armed in that area, as well. By
doing so, they are unintentionally asking potential offenders to also be armed. A gun won't do
shit if you're shot first, and looked how it turned out, he was highly out of it, and was barely
harmless, and these guys sounded like they would have shot him. Anyway, point I was making is
basically summed up by saying a gun won't do shit, if you're the one who is shot first.

"HES HIGH! WHY YOU PICKING ON HIM! WHY YOU HELP HIM!" Because hes the scum of the earth.
>>2694062
Dude, people who want to be armed illegally are going to do it no matter what, there isn't
magical fucking forcefeild if you put up a no guns sign that somehow stops people from entering.
You might as well allow LAW BIDING CITIZENS TO CARRY LEGALLY TO STOP THOSE WITH POOR INTENTIONS.

So you're saying we should just say "Yeah, whatever. Let the risk of gun violence in this
specified area increasingly rise, because why not? Some people are going to do it anyway!" I
guess you think it's a good idea to supply kids who get bullied by people who could potentially
bring a knife or even a gun with AK-47's and allow them to go to school.

Wow, my point just flew right over you so fast you read it upside down.
Homicidal people are quite abundant, more so than you would guess. Guns don't grant infallible
protection from people who mean you harm. Staying out of harm's way will save your life way more
often than any weapon, because you are still an single human being. That was the point, they are
making themselves vulnerable.
Whether the druggee dies or lives is no consequence to me, it would be ultimately his fault for
walking around fucking with other peoples shit. But you have to have a sense of balance in a
society, the idea of punishment equal to a crime; if he was killed and didn't do anything to
deserve death, that makes the one who killed him more dangerous and detrimental to society.

>risk of gun violence
If you didn't know, here in Texas we have the most guns, and the lowest crime. Your risk of "gun
violence" is by those with illegal weapons. Not law biding citizens.
If you make something illegal, only criminals will have them.
The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun.
No I don't believe in arming children, I believe in arming trained teachers and staff if they so
please. You are being ridiculous and illogical; like every statist liberal I know.

I hope the latter of your post was exclusively for the school topic, if not, these people aren't
remotely trained or professional in any single way. They are redneck trash, who would have
probably opened fire on the person, who was clearly intoxicated with a substance, and probably
couldn't even comprehend what was happening. And the "good guys" with a gun would ideally be the
authority in that area, not some inbred soccer mom. Quite honestly, if I were to pick the
circumstances of this situation, I'd rather it be a kid than these fucks.

Everyone in this thread is fucking retarded. The situation could have been handled with zero
violence, which it was. The people are complaining about something that could of happened, and
you're arguing about it. Gun are here, they're not just going to magically disappear, but there's
no need to reform their usage everywhere for protection, because that protection can be easily
turned into unprovoked hostile activity. America has already fucked up, and there's no fixing it
in a couple days, but there's no use just giving up completely and allowing the problem to get
even worse.

Gun laws in America are very divisive. Everyone seems to think everyone else is either a redneck
that shoots their guns in the air in celebration over something completely mild and commonplace,
or a gun grabbing socialist-liberal-communist.
I have no idea why people take such polarized views of this shit, but they're the loudest
opinions every time it gets brought up.

An armed society is a polite society.
Better to be a winner than to be a victim.
Your government will not protect you when you need it the most, because they spend all their time
and resources safeguarding the Illuminati and other secret societies. You are nothing but a
statistic to them.
If everybody had a gun, we would not be seeing mass shootings with many people dead. People would
be able to fight back and defend themselves, and prevent other people from being killed.
As a citizen, it is your duty to defend yourself and others from homicidal assholes.
