Hard drives are precise shit. Everything else had no electric current run through it to short. >> [_] Anon 2590266 Looks like Marty Chang's backyard. Fun fact: hard drives have little holes that allow them to equalize the pressure inside. They have filters on them, but they'll definitely let water in. >> [_] Anon 2590362 >># Fucking this.

The only component that should fail from submersion would be a hard drive. The water will actually get inside certain areas of the disk and this will render it unusable. Everything else is fine to be in contact with water, it's got a protective spray on film coating, and there was no electricity involved in this situation (he removed the CMOS battery) >> [_] Anon 2556904 >># Some people don't know that until they try. >> [_] Anon 2556927 >># So water CAN destroy hard drives? is effective? >> [_] Anon 2556948 >># Good upload, I'm impressed with the results. >> [_] Anon 2556950 >># Wait, shit, you may be right. >> [_] Anon 2556956 >># just microwave it anyway to be safe >> [_] Anon 2556970 >># when /k/ tries to give /g/ advice >> [_] Anon 2556975 >># >that fucking spider that came out of the computer after he hammered it

Everything else is just solid like parts, but the HD is like a toy, that are made of parts and have a empty space in the middle, what in the HD is literally, nothing, unless the Disc and some shit. >> [_] Anon 2250337 >># I liked it, wasn't expecting the computer to be filled with earth. He made it seem viable up until he more or less tossed the computer into the water, the hammer strokes felt like he was putting some realism into it, instead of simply trashing the computer as is the norm for a cheap laugh. >> [_] Chollux 2250364 woulda' worked if he had an SSD instead of a hard drive >> [_] Anon 2250369 back in the day, my buddies used a forklift to ram into a CRT monitor. Darn monitor almost damaged the tines. Another time, we took a hammer to a hard drive. Them things is hard enoght to be armor plating for shotgun duels >> [_] Anon 2250419 everything was made of the hardest metal in the universe; possibly the hardest metal known to man: diamonds. except the hard drive. that was made of flimsy polonium

Other than that I don't see why it would fuck up electrical components with no charge running through them as long as you let them dry. |
