the statue mentions 2, 5, and 8, obviously referring to the numpad. 2 scrolls down, 5 selects,
and 8 scrolls up. The first choice gives you 800 hp, the second gives you 4 attack points, the
third gives you 4 defense points, and the last one exits. The three choices cost 25 gold.

F will let you warp between any floor you've been to except the highest one. L will show the
stats of all the monsters on the floor. (You need to find certain items before you can do this)
The stats page shows:

I don't think levels really matter. All one does is increase your att/def by 7 and increase your
hp by 1000. Even if it gets reset to 1, you still keep all your stats.

I am not sure about that but it also seems to be because you don't have enough energy to survive
a fight against it. because I couldn't kill a bat even though I killed them before and I had like
45 HP so it seems plausible.

Yeah, then it's that you would die if you attacked, due to low health. But if you lost too much
health during your last battle, then either you fought an monster that was too difficult for you,
or you should have trained more defense. I never have any problems with low health, it's always a
matter of if my attack/defense are high enough for me to win comfortably.

There used to be a save hack where you saved, fought a mob, saved and then loaded and it would be
there again. Or something the like.

Just beat this.
The only way you're going to win is to raise your defense and your strength (the second and third
choices with the statues). For the men in blue, choose the first option: it raises your level,
raising your HP, strength and defense.
If your defense is higher than an enemy's strength, you cannot be injured by that enemy.
Likewise, an enemy cannot be injured if you do not have more strength than they have defense.
Tip: leave at least 100-150 gold (or points, I can't read what it is) in both columns below your
strength and defense. You will need to buy keys for a short while.
BIG tip: SAVE BEFORE YOU GO UP THE FINAL STAIRCASE ON LEVEL 20. It traps you there and you can't
warp out, so if you're low on HP or anything else, you'd be fucked if you hadn't saved before
then.
