the review, shitty or not, fails to load for me. but I can say that after having played this game

i dunno, cave story's ballos level was pretty fucking hard. that seemed to me to be his one beef
with the game...so perhaps if the creator had added different difficulty levels he would have
given it more stars? seems dumb. and really..it's cave -story- not cave -omgwtfimpossiblegame-

I read the full review. A bit harsh, but I agree for the most part. It was fun for about a couple
hours of wandering and shooting (come on, that game was ridiculously easy and offered virtually
no challenge), the power-ups/new weapons made it totally worth it, the tunes were pretty fun; but
overall the amount of praise this game is nowhere near what it deserves. As he says at the end of
his review, "[Cave Story] is going up against the entire history of videogames," and to that
respect -- the game is sub-par at best.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Cave Story -- but if you Cavestory fans would pull your heads up
out of your asses and actually see this reviewer's point without being blinded by your own
arrogance. The reviewer might have bad tastes and games, and may have danced around his main
point due to his OWN arrogant, blind-sided outlook -- but by shooting him down you're pretty much
just as asinine.

I can respect other opinions but maaaaaan I couldn't read his full review because he was more
bitching about the people liking it and how anyone could possible dissagree with him.
And his bitching with art just says me that he have no idea what he is talking about.
My unimportant opinion on this is that games are supposed to make fun and I enjoyed this game
more than other Indie games.

That wasn't really a review, it was just him being snide. It meanders around so much, spiraling
off into little diatribes against only vaguely related topics with a sense of misplaced
expertise. Any decent point he does make (and he does actually make several) is mired by hundreds
of words with no relation to the topic, or poorly written vitriolic asides that don't add
anything to his arguments.
When all is said and done though, he and Cave Story have the same problem: no editor.
