I didn't even finish ground zeroes and I'm completely uninterested in phantom pain
this comes from a guy who played all of the MGS games, well except for psp and vita games so I'm
totally lost in the story

Supposedly, the big boss story stuff comes mostly from MGS3, Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes, and
Phantom Pain. If you play the previous three, that should cover it, I think.
At least I think that's all that should be relevant since Solid Snake basically dies in 4. It
never shows him dying but he's definitely at the end of his life.

well at the end of 4 solid snake just went on to live what he has left of his time but they
didn't show him die (if you're referring to that gunshot in the graveyard he purposely missed)
and I haven't played Portable Ops nor Peace Walker and the fact that David Hayter doesn't do
voice for snake/big boss just adds the distance between me and Phantom Pain

I have 24 hours to complete MGS3 and Peace Walker. I hope I will understand why Ocelot is with
Big Boss after that.

The new voice-actor for Big Boss is actually pretty good ("you're pretty good"). He has a very
nice weathered sound to him which really fits the character he's voicing. I wouldn't really let
that create distance from what looks like will be an amazing game.
Also, here's hoping that MGO3 is as good as or even better than MGO2.

after all those years and the "War has changed" monologue nothing can replace him
I mean he's a huge part of MGS that's just gonna be missing there
and don't get me wrong MGS PP will be a great game it's just it's not gonna be the same
