To be perfectly fair and honest, World of Warcraft peaked around BC and started to drop off in
quality during WotLK. I would argue that further expansions were still "enjoyable" for people to
play, maybe not for the same reasons as vanilla and BC, but still had their moments nonetheless.

It was only with the release of the newest expansion that Blizzard simply shot themselves in the
  foot.
World of Warcraft is now legitimately falling from grace, not due to failings of the game itself
but because the company managing the game seems to have grown extremely complacent, and no longer
care about the game except for it's ability to put cash in their pockets.
After all this time that people have been wanting WoW to be "overcome" by another MMO, it is
actually somewhat depressing to see that the game finally starting it's death throes is not due
to another competitor, but a lack of effort on the part of Blizzard.

It had and still has all the mechanics and mannerisms that MMOs still pull from it.
It simply did everything right, and like I said, it is still saddening to see that the game
managed to outlive the patience of its developer. Even I find that fact odd, seeing as I was one
of the people hoping to see its title wrung away from it.

There is something that practically everyone can agree on, though. Even if those people say that
WoW, as a whole, was a bad or poorly-built game, they would still most likely agree to the notion
that the soundtrack was and is wonderful, and absolutely fitting to the areas of the world. I
still certainly remember the first time I logged into the game in 2005, starting off as a dwarf
in Dun Morogh, and hearing that crisp, immersive music enter my ears.

  tl;dr
People might think the game is shit (it sort of is now, due to Blizzard being lazy pricks) but
the music found in almost all the expansions is pretty fucking stellar.

If I still played WoW today, this is where i'd be all the time.
  Fucking loved Grizzly Hills man.
The rivers that cut through the hillside covered in pine trees while the Grizzly bears hunt for
salmon by the riverside. Basically a romantic viewing of Canada.
Also Sholazar Basin is my #2

Subscriber wise it did but he's talking about the quality of the game.

BC was pretty much the best part of WoW, in Wrath it was about the same but sacrificed some RPG
elements to gain more accessibility to it's increased playerbase. Cata had shit lore and pvp was
turned into a joke and in MoP everything became worse except the PvE content. In WoD everything
became quite a bit worse, except for the PvE content.

WOTLK was my favorite, i was to busy leveling during the end of TBC to really enjoy it but man
that zone music in Northrend was like 90% why i love that game.

Something about Grizzly Hill's theme, even when WotLK first launched, always filled me with a
sense of sad nostalgia but also comfort. This will forever and always be their greatest zone
theme and I'd wager their greatest bit of music.

Most of them were handled terribly. Tera was Nexon shit, Wild Star was left to rot by an
inexperienced dev team who tried to concentrate more on pleasing SJWs than the important parts,
SWotOR was done by nu-Bioware using the awfully unfinished and undocumented Hero engine.

Vanilla and BC WoW were something magical I can't quite put to words. Despite the game's numerous
issues, the whole experience was beautiful, and something I'm quite sad I will never see again.

I love this song so much. Since the time I first heard it, it seized the imagination, so
perfectly capturing the spirit of the pioneer that brings us to Grizzly Hills. The noble battle
between man and wilderness, the drive to settle and live life in foreign lands, so marvelously
performed through the use of instruments known to us, played in a way unknown to us.
