After those episodes, the plot curve actually develops and it's like watching DBZ with portals. Also, the fight scenes are very well animated and dynamic. If not Wakfu, then I suggest Kids on the Slope. A nice little one-shot anime about jazz. Basically the best anime I've seen to date. The character development is solid and the show is great at avoiding anime tropes while maintaining a rather compelling story.
