So tired of this B/S, if you are a "robot" you are most likely not beta.

This is the best, most accurate, 4chan documentary ever made.

r9k has been suffering from a large influx of 'dank meme' spouting redditors culminating in a
explosion of frogposting that leaked into reality.
It didn't used to be like this. The whole 'robot' being synonymous with 'depressed loser',
'defective human', and 'social misfit' is a relatively recent conception that is now so firmly
embedded in board culture it can't be divorced anymore.
It's sad.

What I'd give to see old /b/.
Before 2007, or at the very least before 2011.

The alpha-beta narrative is new but the general feeling of loneliness has been around since
before rage comics went mainstream. You don't remember together alone?
I'd say the biggest difference from old /r9k/ is vitriol. They used to be just morose, now
they're almost always indignant and the memers like to latch on to that.

Remember when /r9k/ used to have classy threads, and instead of Wojak and Pepe the mascot used to
be the typical green anon with formal dress, a monocle, and a top-hat?
Where the people on the board used to have fun?
Where the robot would filter out 90% of the threads made now? (chief among them being that stupid
"tfw no bf" poster who makes the same thread every hour on the hour)
Shiieett, when /r9k/ actually HAD a robot?
Say whatever you will about Le Cancer and Le Reddit and Le Old /b/, but shit used to be way
better mang

the only difference between new /b/ and old /b/ are the ad posts, and those just replaced rate
threads and other retardedly bad posts that was constantly posted back then. pre 2007 had
slightly more to do with anime than after 2007
what im getting at is /b/ has always been like it is now. furries, lolis, shitposts, and all

>the general feeling of loneliness has been around
Whats changed is that r9k now defines themselves by their perceptions of normality.
r9k, being a general board that barred reposts, fostered a fair amount of naval-gazing and
blogposting with one of the most popular genres being embarrassing and depressing stories, and
the idea of 'robots' as being not quite regular humans, perhaps lacking some essential spark of
life that makes one fit effortlessly into the world was around, but the conception of "robots"
being 'anti-human', the opposite of normal and priding themselves on that is something that
spawned when feelposters tried to distinguish between themselves and newcomers around like 2013.
