I know it's Greek, and it's about the man who enters Hell and strikes a deal with hades for his wife's soul, as long as he doesn't look at her while she follows him, but he thinks that Hades has lied to him on the way back out, so looks, and she fades away. >> [_] Anonymous 11/03/15(Tue)02:06:58 No.2942107 >>2942097 You got the first half of it right. He gets too excited and looks back at her right as he takes his first step out of Hell. She's still one step from the exit, so she disappears. It's the myth of Orpheus, btw. >> [_] Anonymous 11/03/15(Tue)02:07:55 No.2942109 >>2942097 >>2942107 this stuff is really interesting >> [_] Anonymous 11/03/15(Tue)02:21:08 No.2942116 >>2942107 Fuck, man, I didn't realize that part at the end... that's even worse! Greeks were the original fucking edgelords. Thanks for that, though. I knew it was a greek myth that started with 'O' but wasn't Oedipus, which is also all sorts of levels of fucked up. >> [_] Anonymous 11/03/15(Tue)03:28:39 No.2942136 This is one of the most rewarding games I've played in months. I almost want to try for a no-death run but that might be beyond my skill level even with hours of practice. >> [_] Anonymous 11/03/15(Tue)03:46:22 No.2942140 The challenges slowly escalate while providing meaningful feedback. The action is slow enough (especially the time between bullets and the pause after landing from a jump) so that everything is felt consciously. The game after meeting Euridice felt more like a series of pretty arrangements of objects than a difficult challenge, while being challenging enough to require effort. I felt like the end was a little shocking but not unexpected and a good incentive to try again. I love one tiny detail: The jump down to the final boss gave you a chance to get one easy shot. It felt really good to smack him. I'm sure more people would give up if they tried several times in a row and never hit the boss. That first easy hit is a brilliant incentive to continue fighting. >> [_] Anonymous 11/03/15(Tue)05:01:21 No.2942170 so what happened at the end? i didnt get it also that boss was hardcore >> [_] Anonymous 11/03/15(Tue)05:04:47 No.2942171 >>2942170 The game was just a daydream in the guy's mind. His wife is dead and he has to live with the consequences of it. >> [_] Anonymous 11/03/15(Tue)05:06:21 No.2942172 >>2942171 you mean he didnt fucking kill a giant monster who threw spiders and birds at him while shooting white goo at his face? talk about waste of time >> [_] Anonymous 11/03/15(Tue)05:35:28 No.2942182 That was a lot of fun. Thanks for posting OP. Getting 2 hits on the last boss per cycle felt so satisfying, especially on the way down. The game was generally very easy but somehow the challenge was so clear and so simple it was remarkable amounts of fun to overcome. Add the Orpheus theme and suddenly... this is a good game. >> [_] Anonymous 11/03/15(Tue)06:12:55 No.2942190 Not too difficult that it's outright discouraging, while still presenting enough of a challenge to make you feel accomplished for getting through a difficult puzzle or defeating a boss. The Cerberus fight was wonderful. His weakness isn't apparent at all, and only becomes so after a luckily-timed shot. This gives you hope after preciously being at your wit's end as to how to overcome him. Once you start damaging him, his pattern changes perfectly. The differences are subtle yet every attack pattern covers a hole previously left by the last pattern, and demands a slightly different strategy to get a hit in. Probably a more intuitive fight than any I had in The Witcher 3. And I really enjoyed the Witcher. Very rarely do I even consider playing a game on /f/, and even more rarely do I actually put effort in. For to complete a game is almost unheard of these days. That I was motivated to finish this game is a hallmark of very, very good design. Thanks OP >> [_] Anonymous 11/03/15(Tue)06:25:00 No.2942199 >>2942182 agreed man, fukken saved >> [_] Anonymous 11/03/15(Tue)06:34:06 No.2942200 >>2942190 >the Cerberus blah blah blah it's King K.
