Hello, everyone. I've "fixed" the flash so that the music loops better and there's no weird
jumping of the visuals. It's bothered me for a long time. Also, when I decompiled the swf it
showed a baby Mario in it? So I made sure that he shows up. If you liked it without Mario you can
just click to get rid of him, but I guess having him in it was the original author's intention?
  Even though it didn't work?
Who knows, there's a lot of mystery surrounding this swf. Where did he get the footage of the
Yoshi's Island title screen without the title? Did he hack a rom to remove it? Cause my hour of
attempting to do that was fruitless. I couldn't easily find that part so I just automated
Photoshop to get rid of it frame by frame for this.
Why did he use the uncompleted World 6 title screen rather than the completed one? That's kind of
an oddly specific bit to use.
And finally, what the hell is the source of this song?
That last one is really the important one. We gots to know.

  We'll never know

man i wish i was good enough to post flashes where sources are completely unfindable.

like every part of this flash is a mystery

That final question is the trick of the flash.
You can't sleep because you're LOOKING FOR THE FUCKING SONG.

I remember looking for it myself about two years ago and I spent like upwards of six hours on a
  day off to no avail.

I don't know who made the original flash but god damn they are have a demented sense of humor,
  the ingenious motherfucker.

The only thing that ever came out of these threads was that the sax player was MAYBE Mel Collins,
but he's played in so many bands it would take fucking forever to try and sift through them all.

>> [_] Anonymous 10/15/15(Thu)00:19:03 No.2927429

I can tell one of the background songs is something from Nujabes or Uyama Hiroto, but the
  lyrics....no fucking idea.

didn't know there was so much to this .swf
  >more than meets the eye

>> [_] Anonymous 10/15/15(Thu)00:29:05 No.2927434

Well it's good to know I'm not the only one who spent way too long trying to sauce this....it
sounds like it might be a really cool song too.

  >It's bothered me for a long time.
I saved this ages ago with the intent to do just this, but never got around to it, and finally
  forgot it altogether.
  Nice job, man. Flawless.
I'm guessing that the audio must be a home mix. Not terribly difficult to cobble together a few
bits to make a track like that. If it were a published work, we'd probably have sauced it ages
  ago.

how about just go down the list of all the mel collins bands followed by "lyrics" and "I can't
  sleep"

So like... 'King Crimson Lyrics "I can't sleep"' "Clannad Lyrics "I can't sleep'"' etc...

>> [_] Anonymous 10/15/15(Thu)01:36:18 No.2927485

OKAY OKAY I THINK I'M MAYBE ONTO SOMETHING HERE

Original flash poster ended his post with "Kato"

When I google "Kato Can't Sleep" I get three results, one bop.fm, one shazam, one from Songtexte.

None of their links will play though, so I can't yet confirm.

It has a discography on songtexte. Its the first song on his album Home Movie

For the love of like, an entire year's worth of saucing attempts can somebody, PLEASE help me
find out if this is the guy.

Is there anywhere we can just... like, buy the guy's stuff? That would at least give us a way of
  finding out.

Confirmed fake site. No way to actually get access to it. The creator puts up fake files for
obscure music to get people to fill out surveys that give him cash.
