>> [_] Anon 3261544 >># Shit, that never got proper closure? Did anyone else play the SNES game sidescrolling beat-em up? I remember getting to the last level and panicking because I wasn't confident in my skills to finish the final boss, so I passed the game off to the elder siblings who were much better at the game, but because I wasn't playing as that giant motherfucker Ioz they couldn't play as well and we all ended up never beating the game. But it was a heluva lot of fun regardless. In retrospect, it was a slightly less good TMNT: Turtles in Time, but still pretty good.
>> [_] Anon 3261553 >># He's right, you know.
>> [_] Anon 3261576 >># Literally all of those things he mentioned are still available today and aside from some shit sitcom tv show, most of those things are still enjoyed today. The only thing that has changed with these people is that they realized there is more in the world than what they knew as a child, and in a desperate attempt to cling to what they know, they drown themselves in nostalgia and ignore the good things that are being built upon the very things they enjoyed. I wonder how many people in their 30's today were excited for the Legend of Zelda on the Nintendo Switch. Probably not many, even though the game follows a very similar structure to that of the titles they enjoyed on the Nintendo 64 like Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Also, this video was clearly mocking the narrator's views of the nineties, and most people (except you apparently) realized this.
>> [_] Anon 3261579 >># Sounds like somebody grew up in the 2000's.
>> [_] Anon 3261581 >># "Good TV show" is an oxymoron. Television is something you watch when you have absolutely nothing better to do. Just like reading. Stay delusional.
>> [_] Anon 3261584 >># >doesn't understand that "good" can be a relative term Come talk to me again when you make it through middle school.
>> [_] Anon 3261589 >># I am in my 20s, loved the N64 games and was interested in the new Zelda, but not willing to pay $700 for what will likely otherwise be a shit tier console, because that's what Nintendo does nowadays. Having said that, I have several coworkers in their 20s and 30s who bought the Switch solely so they could play the new Zelda and have little interest in anything else on the console. Remember when Nintendo made the good consoles? You wouldn't if you grew up in the 2000s. Nintendo would be the next Sega or Atari if they didn't have their flagship titles with a loyal fanbase.

>> [_] Anon 2541723 It's like he's trying to make a point but he doesn't.
>> [_] Anon 2541730 >># he did, it was pretty clear to me maybe youre just an idiot
>> [_] Anon 2541733 i'm not one of those people that this video is making fun of, however there is one legitimate advantage that i feel 80's and 90's (up til about 95) kids did have. It was sort of the bridge between the analogue era and the tech era. The kids born in those times got to experience that last of the old world as it were and are still familiar with the old technology and grew up learning to do things without computers or other massive tech help. A lot of the younger generations (many post 95 and all the post 2000) don't understand analog technology and don't know how do do a lot of more mundane things without relying on tech. (cont)
>> [_] Anon 2541735 >># (cont) Inherently this isnt a bad thing because times change, however a lot of old skills and practices are being lost and in the events of power outages or if there were to be a huge system crash many of these people would not know how to function. It also causes a lot of tension between them and the older generations because a lot of basic societal constructs are foreign to these newer generations that are growing up on the internet because communication works so differently. Yea, the REMEBER THE 90s people are retarded alot of the time, but the 80s-90's kids did grow up in a magical time where the world was completely changing both in tech and social structure and not a lot of other generations can understand that.
>> [_] Anon 2541738 pretty much
>> [_] Anon 2541742 >># *edit* not just would not , they DO NOT. I have been around and have worked around alot of these younger generations and almost every single one i've seen that was raised "normally" has no idea what to do or how to function when power goes out or their phone/tablet dies ect.
>> [_] Anon 2541743 >># >># nigga you just wrote a novel with the main points that the 90's were better than anything else and that other generations don't understand the great parts of the 90's. You're exactly the kind of people this is making fun of
>> [_] Anon 2541747 >># name me one other time where the complete social structure and tech levels of our planet changed in such a short amount of time. I'm not exactly saying they're better, but im saying they're the best equipped for todays world. honestly the 20's-30's generation were incredibly strong beause they wernt held back by notions of political correctness and they were taught and encouraged to do everything themselves. Its known as the greatest generation for a lot of reasons. The boomers fucked up pretty much all of that though and the 2000+ dont understand how the world works and are being raised in a hugbox society.
>> [_] Anon 2541759 >># Lol ok. I can't speak on behalf of other countries but, for the US, the 90s were just like any other. 50-60s than 60-70s than 70-80s and so on. WWII coming on then ending. The birth and death of Disco. Woodstock. NWA and the massive boom of Hip-Hop effecting white culture. Not to mention Vietnam, Korean War, the Moon Landing, etc. Was the true 'birth', as far as the average person is concerned, of the computer/internet age not a major impact on the world? Of course not but, that isn't to say it changed the world more than microwave ovens, women's suffrage, or any other major milestone. Also, Moore's law is mostly responsible for the 'technological evolution' you're probably referring to. Technological feats are more and more frequent since the growth is observed to be exponential.
>> [_] Anon 2541777 >># >># I like this. Good work. Well said. >># You didn't even read it, you dipshit.
>> [_] Anon 2541787 >># >a lot of the younger generations don't understand analog technology That's a pretty broad generalization. If anything, this whole 90s/post-90s dichotomy is just an illusion made up by you few pretentious idiots that think pop culture is worth a damn. In all likelihood, all this whining is what's making the kids these days try to act more and more post-modern and feeling proud that they use cumbersome, expensive, inefficient technology rather than the newer, better things that talented people have worked to innovate.
>> [_] Anon 2541792 >># Haha look at this nerd writing words on the internet.
>> [_] Anon 2541827 >># >millenials have to go out of their way and denigrate other generations because they are too useless and lazy to do something worthwhile. WE ARE THE FUTURE!, GENERATION 00 !
>> [_] Anon 2541887 >># You mean the particular members of those generations who can't take off their fucking nostalgia goggles, don't you? I don't see every single person born in the 90s in that video. Just a representation of the YOU DAMN KIDS subset, which you seem to be a member of
>> [_] Anon 2541888 >># >># >in the events of power outages or if there were to be a huge system crash many of these people would not know how to function This has nothing to do with not using old technology, it's just the way things work these days. There just aren't that many jobs that can be done without a strong technological infrastructure. The argument that knowing how to use outdated tech is somehow valuable outside of nostalgic circlejerking is also laughable. Knowing how to use a telegraph doesn't benefit anyone because there's no call for that skill. The only valid point you made was that they are better at communicating with those who are closer in age to them than the younger generations. This is true of literally every generation, so it's still stupid to use it in this context.
>> [_] Anon 2541902 Try growing up in the 70's. We don't even. Carter and gas rationing, 8 tracks, the vega and pinto, marbles and being outside running around with your two friends all day. Channel 20 in DC with all weekend movies and creature feature. Mcdonalds serving millions daily. Fistfights that solved the issue. Racism. Women in the kitchen. Lost paradise.
>> [_] Anon 2541903 i do think the 90s and early 00s were better, but that's mostly because i was a child and thus life was easier and i had lots of time for playing. the one thing that i don't like about the current generations, other than the fact they seem more and more disrespectful and inconsequent, is how early kids are being given tablets, smartphones and more. while them getting accustomed to modern technology and learning to use it early isn't really a bad thing, i'm not sure if being exposed so early to the internet and spending their childhoods on social networks or playing flappy bird is a good thing.
>> [_] Anon 2541910 >># The one thing I don't like about the current generations is that they never learned how to use capital letters.

>> [_] Anon 2541936 >tfw old people used to be made fun of for literally this exact reason
>> [_] Anon 2541947 >># >waste time >hold down shift for half a second >not doing it makes you look like a retarded child Just admit you're underaged and we'll see what the mods do. ;^)

>> [_] Anon 2541953 WE HAD 9/11 FUCK YAH!
>> [_] Anon 2541954 >># I'll admit I sometimes do this, because I like the way silly imageboard one-liners look without capitalization. The "younger generations are illiterate" "TXT speak" thing is total bullshit, though. People who grew up with the internet spend more time writing (whether it be instant messages, forum posts, emails, or blog posts) than previous generations ever did.
>> [_] Anon 2541963 >># You forgot about all of the electrical fires.
