I was hoping it wouldn't be so cringeworthy.
It was worthy of much cringe, however. Less so for the quality of voice, but for the
directly-translated, highly prosaic lyrics.
Would it kill her to move/delete some words for effect?

basically every "romantic" anime song is prosaic as it is
- I need you blablabla my heart palpitation blablabla together we will fly blablabla-
etc

There was a time when it was acceptable for localization to do heavy rewording in order to make
shit sound less-retarded. This is why anime dubs from the 90s aren't nearly as cringeworthy as
the shit we get today. Nowadays, everyone in the business in a fucking weeb, and 100% accurate
translations are the MO.
And to be honest, Japan shits out such a high volume of anime. It's apparent that quantity over
quality is their goal. Would you put much time or effort into rewording something that is
essentially just a drop in the bucket?
