in the US and canada, eggs must be washed before being sold.
In the EU, eggs may not be washed.

I don't know what shithole you live in, but you couldn't be further from the truth.
The whole reason that storebought eggs need to be refrigerated in the first place is because they
are cleaned so thoroughly that the protection on the shell is worn off and it spoils quicker.
They actually have to rewax the eggs after cleaning them in order to provide a longer shelf life.
