now i have a name for my childhood nightmare fuel
i remember i couldn't have been more than 10 and this shit came on late night teletoon(canadian
cartoon channel) after I played my gamecube all day and was trying to sleep
the scene of the guy getting ripped out of the mech while his arms and legs are still locked
inside made me sick and I still have nightmares about it sometimes

I know, me too. Anime was always way too fucked up for my 8 year old psyche. It helps to remember
that it's just a cartoon, though.

Well, makes sense. If they watched it when they were 5 or older they can now post here.

what i dont buy is how humans would think that a machine --that is able to think and combat
humans on an equal or even superior level-- couldn't figure out a way to get energy without the
sun.
it doesnt make sense. even if the sun was their only source it would just mean that the machine
would figure out some way to get past the clouds (building huge sun catchers above them or
something, since they are machines such construction shouldn't be a problem). it's not like the
clouds are an unstoppable barrier, they even flew above them in the third matrix movie for a
short while
the only reason i can think of is that the machines hadn't get gotten to such a stage that they
could create such a construction, but in that case it feels like they shouldn't be able to win
against the humans.
so feels like in reality any kind of "let's block the sun" idea would get shut down by a thousand
scientists. kinda ruins it a bit for me.

yes we are? a lot of people are doing a lot of things to reduce the environmental impact.
and that is hardly the same in the first place

Yeah I always thought the same but it's a conceit that allows for the whole premise of The Matrix

I think humans were desperate for something their economy was simply broken and the robots were
impossible to beat in a war the ideia that looked the best won it and as show in the anime the
humans started winning the war for a small period of time, going past the clouds probably wasnt
possible because of winds lightings and theyd probably lose protection from the earths magnetic
field or the fact that just making huge farms of humans on unsed soil was easier

i still think it would have been shut down by something like "how will we farm? we'll starve
before beating the machine". no matter how desperate you are the thought of your children
starving usually makes you think twice

>>2999649
We probably had other ways of making food or a way to clean the sky after the war if the robots
didnt adapt after all we created a AI capable of think and combat humans on an equal or even
superior level but your argument is true. but the humans on that universe were extremely
egocentric and started the war just because didnt wanted to recognize a robot country so yeah i
dont know if they'd think in the next generations

you should really watch the whole thing. Not watching the Animatrix is like watching the star
wars prequels but skipping Genndy Tartovsky's animated Clone Wars series
