Why would you use either of them? MPV does everything but UI better, and you can use Baka MPlayer
if you want a UI. It does the "It just werks" better than VLC and the video rendering better than
MPC-HC. Why haven't you switched yet?

No. VLC has never been as bad as this flash, but it used to have a serious problem of fucking up
key frames. Those problems are mostly gone now, but VLC is still the inferior option. It's not
much worse any more, but still. It is unforgivable to pick the worse option while knowing that
there are objectively better - and more convenient - options out there.
