we will never see an 80s/90s anime set here, and never get to know the colorful characters who
live there.
This saddens me somewhat. Though I know this makes me gayer than 8 guys blowing 9 guys.

I'm missing something. Didn't we get exactly that anime in 1992, plus an OVA?

If you go to swfchan, you'll find this is an image from the PC98 game Uchū no Kishi Tekkaman
Blade: Orbital Ring Dakkai Sakusen (https://www.mobygames.com/game/pc98/uch-no-kishi-tekkaman-blad
e-orbital-ring-dakkai-sakusen/screenshots/gameShotId,479082/). The game itself is from the
Tekkaman Blade franchise, which had one anime in 1975, but more relevantly a 49-episode series,
Uchuu no Kishi Tekkaman Blade, from 1992 to 1993. Following that was a 6 episode OVA: Uchuu no
Kishi Tekkaman Blade II, in 1994 and 19945.
I've not seen any of this (it's just floating on my eternal mecha backlog), so I can't say
whether it's really set on the orbital station. A quick perusal of the description of the show
implies that most of the action takes places on the station or nearby, however.

I just love this swf
The pixelation and the song just invites feelings of bittersweet hope as I have to use my
imagination to fill in the blanks.
