It seemed a bit off from what was shown in the main show. Also, was he the first of his race to gain time powers, or did they all have it? >> [_] Anonymous 02/11/16(Thu)07:38:00 No.3019977 >>3019976 In Wakfu, you gain powers and your race by following a god. He wasn't the first chronomancer, but he was the most powerful chronomancer. >> [_] Anonymous 02/11/16(Thu)07:40:09 No.3019979 >>3019976 The way that I understand it, Nox might not have been the first to ever consider or attempt to control time, but he was convinced that with the help of the cube he could do so in ways that nobody had ever thought possible before as long as he had enough energy to power it. The origin story really just shows that he's not exactly evil, because he's so sure of his own theory that he's completely convinced that he can simply undo all the atrocities that he's committed to accomplish his goal as soon as he gets enough power to make it happen. Therefore, the only way for him to truly do 'wrong' is to fail in his mission, otherwise he can just rewind time and have his family back, his life back, and all of the terrible things he had to do to get it would be erased. Unfortunately, his understanding of how time -actually- works is a little bit shaky, and he only really realizes just HOW shaky once he's gone well beyond the moral event horizon into near supervillain territory. It's pretty sad. >> [_] Anonymous 02/11/16(Thu)07:43:39 No.3019984 >>3019976 Not the OP, but basically in Wakfu you're born as a regular human, and as you worship or resemble a particular god you come to resemble them. So you could look like an old dude by 20 if you're a really greedy hoarder like Enutrof, or turn into a catperson like an Ecaflip if you like merchanting or gambling. Most Xelors as far as I understand can't control time even a tiny amount as well as Nox. Xelors are limited mostly to speeding themselves up a little bit, maybe slowing specific things down, things like that. So they all have time powers just nothing on the level of stopping time in even a small area. Nox is mostly fueled by all the Wakfu he's taken in. His bug robots have been at this shit for years, I think 200 might be mentioned somewhere. As for his origin, there is that one scene with the automaton family he has acting out a scene, plus he calls those super robots that fight Grugal something I think. He mentions "bringing them back" or "starting again" quite a bit near the end. >> [_] Anonymous 02/11/16(Thu)08:56:18 No.3020009 >>3019984 Well, the dude's family died due to his neglect, and when he realizes it's all his fault he's determined to absorb all the wakfu in the world in order to roll back time to before it all happened and resurrect his family. Except that he finds out later that the reason that all Xelors are limited to about 1-2 seconds of time rewinding is because each additional second of time you roll back time adds an exponentially larger amount of wakfu drained to compensate. By the time he finally accomplishes his goal and starts to roll back time, he only manages to get 20 minutes into the past before he exhausts every single bit of wakfu he's stolen, including the power that's keeping him alive. He realizes how bad he fucked up and just leaves and goes to lay down at his family's grave site and die. >> [_] friendsofsandwiches 02/11/16(Thu)09:00:25 No.3020013 Yeah, I bought the kickstarter and got the wakfu seasons 1 and 2, although it feels like there's stuff missing here and there I think. It amazes me that the way they wrote it, nox would never have tested and calculated out the level of power needed to hit 200 years. There's a lot that's really nifty about Wakfu, and the stories and ideas behind it all, but after it all shifted over to the online freemium game, I started backing off. But thanks for the info on all that. >> [_] Anonymous 02/11/16(Thu)09:12:59 No.3020022 >>3020013 except he did calculate it... but his formula was wrong. Like all his inventions in the past, this one had one single glaring flaw that kept it from working. |
