Anyway, I'm 99% sure he does it because contrast looks appealing. He made a flash animation of his
brownish rule 63 self insert getting fucked by a white guy for christ's sake. The fact that Mario
was darker in the original only reinforces that, since he's canon white, as >>35063 pointed out. He
was made darker in the original of this to get some contrast going.
And yeah, making the male less visible is also plays a part. Even when I edited this flash, I
didn't just swap Mario and Peach's colors, Mario is kind of greyish white here, and Peach's brown
is more bright and vibrant.

By decompiling it with a flash decompiler that doesn't crash when I try to decompile it. I guess.
I literally googled "swf editing software", sothink swf decompiler showed up, so I [LEGALY
PURCHASED IT IN MY LOCAL SOFTWARE STORE] from piratebay, spent a minute trying to figure out how it
works, and then a few more minutes editing it. Didn't even do it right, the thing is twice as big
as the original.
So... I used sothink swf decompiler 7. I can edit it just fine, but still, maybe I damaged it

I just tried it. You can't create a .fla file from it, the file is probably obfuscated. I've tried
ALL decompilers I know of (trilix/swf/JPEXS), it does not work, at least out of the box. How did
you do it?

You linked to another great .swf by the way which also does not create a .fla file.

you get an "out of memory" error message because when trying to export a .fla it rapidly eats
memory in like seconds until 1,6 gb is reached.
I've been trying to get this file into Adobe Flash/Animate since it was first published in 2012 but
to no avail.

I did not create a .fla file from it.
Assuming you're using the same thing I did (sothink swf decompiler 7):
Start the program. On the left side of the screen there will be a window labeled "explorer". Use it
to navigate to the folder with your file.
The window below that will show all the files in that folder. Choose the flash file you want to
edit.
On the right side of the screen there will be a window labeled "export", showing all exportable
components of the swf file. You can click on those + signs, to expand the list of components. In
this flash animation, almost every component is a shape, and can be found in the "Shape" category.
Shapes can be edited. Double click on one of the shapes show in the middle of the screen (or single
click on one from the right side), and press the Edit button. The edit button is on the toolbar on
top of the screen.
Edit at your leisure.
Save.
