Cuz you don't have k-lite with MPC and full codecs.
>> [_] Anonymous 05/02/16(Mon)03:12:05 No.3073389
>>3073387
I used to install VLC because it was the only thing that would play all the shit floating around.
What's good these days? "k-lite"? any other options?

Duno, I try lot of players few years ago (VLC included), but now K-lite is my default, ugly as
shit but really good with literally all the formats in the past and future.

Remember back when .rm/ Realplayer was super popular?
Eugh. There's one program even nostalgia can't make look good.
>> [_] Anonymous 05/02/16(Mon)03:22:55 No.3073398
>>3073395
I still use realplayer.
its actually quite good if you get the newest codecs for it.

Ye, I remember using that blue abomination like I use YouTube now, but shittyest; aswell
quicktime... what a times. Im glad that .mkv is winning the fight yo.

I've only had problems with vlc trying to run it on a 400Mhz pentium 2 with 125MB of ram
dunno what you people are bitchen about.

THIS
>>3073383
Why isn't important, just knowing it does is all the battle.
>>3073389
K-Lite covers it all. Nothing else really matters, anything else is simply a subset of K-Lite's
collection of codecs and settings.
By the way, you don't actually need to use MPC with it, it's just best and most conveniently
bundled. But VLC still won't play nice in spite of having all the best codecs.
>>3073412
It fucks up on most machines I've tested this on as high as 2GHz CPU and Intel embedded graphics
of most flavors. It seems not to fuck up as long as there's an Nidia card/chip and at least a
2GHz processor, and the more RAM the better.
tl;dr - VLC is a fucking resource hog, sucks on 60% of systems-in-the-wild

I really dont get what people's problems are with it still. I have used it on many devices. the
only time it ever had any issues was on a computer that just couldn't handle playing videos, end
of story. Other then that, my laptop's A8, my current laptop's I5 g1, my desktop, my old macbook
pro and more
The only files it has had issues with are ones that other media players had the same issues, or
wouldn't play at all.
if you people are really having serious problems with it you probably fucked up your computer
somehow, or are running a potato.

was it really though? it was everywhere but i never talked to anyone that actually liked it.
never got why people make rm/ram files (i think ram was playlists of rm files if i remember right)

The 64bit edition of MPC never failed me so far. Doesn't use any resources, either.

You just quoted the very post that explained what the problem is.
You 1) have one of the 40% of computers and 2) aren't very observant.
Problem solved.
