Ok, in team fortress 2 there was a popular hacking client you could pay for called LAMObox, it
would give you esp, autoaim, silent aim (lets bullets go were you are not pointing), and speed
hacks among other things.
The premium version you paid money for has flow under the Valve Anti Cheat (vac) for years
because it was doing something clever. Last week it got detected and a lot of players go hit with
a vac ban you can't play on any vac secured servers, that's 99% of servers. It freezes your items
too, people lost thousands of dollars, 700 keys for example last time I checked go for like 1400
usd. The biggest i have heard is one guy lost 60k in items.
Basically get fucked script kiddies.

Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) is software that Valve servers run in order to detect players using
performance-enhancing scripts (aimbots, wallhacks, etc.). If it detects you using one, you get a
"VAC ban" and you can't play on servers that run VAC anymore. You also get trade banned.
The problem was that VAC didn't actually detect many hacks until recently. But just a few days
ago, Valve figured out how to detect them better VAC banned anyone who had been using the popular
cheating script LMAObox. TF2 players everywhere rejoiced.

Valve Anti-Cheat system. Rather than immediately ban cheaters on detection, their account gets
quietly added to a blacklist while Valve takes measures to gather more intel on what methods
cheaters might be using to make them work or evade detection. And every now and then, they go out
and slap VAC bans on blocks of accounts that have made their way onto the list.
