[_] why is flash such a bitch sometimes when I compress audio in it? Anonymous 06/27/16(Mon)18:05:44
 No.3105401

I mean this didn't come out so bad but why it fucking slows down the audio?

Marked for deletion (old).

Wish I had the answer but I'm just here to thank you for the nice tune. Happy Monday.

Your audio might've been higher than 44100Hz (eg. 48kHz) and when played at 44.1kHz, it'll sound
slowed down. No idea why Flash (the editor) would do such a mistake, but you never know.

  >>3105412
  holy fuck that was it
this is at 48khz and when I converted it again at 44,1 it plays fine
but still that silent gap at the end is still there so I need to redo the song again anyway

  thanks AMM god bless you

  This.

Any audio you use in Flash authoring MUST be 44100Hz, or it will be pitch shifted to accommodate
the difference in sample rate between the source clip and output.

So if your source clip is sampled at 48000Hz, Flash will align the sample points at the 44100Hz
rate, making it sound slower and lower pitched (stretched). If your source is rendered at
32000Hz, the sample points again will be aligned at 44100Hz, compressing it and making it sound
  fast and high.

One of the more annoying features of Flash, but simple enough to work with, just use your
favorite audio app to render the clip at 44100Hz, problem solved.

Done my fair share of audio stuff in Flash.
Export the clip as WAV in 44.1kHz and use streaming audio (iirc? Remember to increase the bitrate
in publish settings), that's the closest you'll get without getting deeper by trimming the audio
  yourself.

>> [_] Anonymous 06/27/16(Mon)18:48:13 No.3105441

  >>3105423
  will do
  >>3105425
yeah I tried to fiddle with publish settings but they have no impact on imported external audio

also the FLV file I used in this is not as jagged when I watch it in a video player. Have any
ideas why it is that way or how to improve it?

Enable smoothing; right-click the video in the library -> Properties -> Smoothing.
  (Or if you're using AS3 [didn't check, probably not], video.smoothing = true;)

>> [_] Anonymous 06/27/16(Mon)19:03:10 No.3105450

  >>3105443
  yes I use AC3 and there isn't such thing in the properties and when I put video.smoothing = true;
in the actions it doesn't do anything

>> [_] Anonymous 06/27/16(Mon)19:43:57 No.3105478

Hate to interrupt your nice discussion but song name?

  >publish settings
Yeah, that has no effect on sample rate. It is hardcoded in Flash render engine.
The publish settings (and audio object properties) are only useful for bitrate and compression
  parameters.

  >not as jagged when I watch it in a video player
It will appear different on different rederers, i.e a video player vs. Flash projector (or
browser plugin). Not exactly sure what you mean by jagged, it looks ok to me, but then again I'm
  viewing on a potato. :^)

  >>3105485
Scale the swf; if it's not 1:1, it looks jagged. The video doesn't have smoothing enabled.

>> [_] Anonymous 06/27/16(Mon)20:26:18 No.3105523

anon PLEASE post the fixed version soon, I've been looking for someone to fix the background to
  make a smoother loop
