She does not grow or even roll back into a BSOD with every trial and tribulation. It's just a series of unfortunate events being thrown at a poor 14-year old girl and the universe basically shitting on her. But people will still defend the show, CUS SHE'S MAI WAIFU >> [_] Anonymous 08/10/16(Wed)00:19:54 No.3129999 >>3129998 are you this guy? http://www.crymore.net/2016/06/26/anime-opinions-kuma-miko-girl-meets-abuse/ >> [_] Anonymous 08/10/16(Wed)00:52:01 No.3130015 holy fucking shit, I watched halfway into ep 8 on Youtube, and that supermarket situation is fucking painful to watch. it's not even funny, it's like, genuinely upsetting to watch. >> [_] Anonymous 08/10/16(Wed)01:15:32 No.3130024 >>3129998 don't fucking spoonfeed >> [_] Anonymous 08/10/16(Wed)01:17:27 No.3130025 >>3129998 But how many shows are like this? I couldn't see any redeeming qualities in the scene. her reactions were too visceral, not slapstick or "haha, aww she's sad" cutesy. she looked and sounded like she was having a realistically-portrayed anxiety attack, and the whole situation just felt too real. everyone around her walking by, not even realizing that she's like a drowning person barely keeping their head above water. it made me genuinely uncomfortable and I had to stop watching. I tried longer than I thought I could manage, but there was no salvation in sight. it just dragged on. and then to top it off, her dickhead dad or teacher or brother or whoever the fuck Yoshio is came back and showed her up after she almost had a breakdown in the middle of the store. what could possibly come after that? "haha! I guess I'm not cut out for this job!" I doubt it. there's nothing to "soak up" or "let sink in" about watching that. there was nothing profound or enlightening about it. I feel like I was invited to watch a trauma patient squirm in one of her therapy sessions for an hour. >> [_] Anonymous 08/10/16(Wed)01:48:47 No.3130050 >>3130036 >40 chapters Tell me how many chapters did it take for Tomoko to actually make any progress, don't fool yourself. I waiting so long for her to make some progress in later chapters that I gave up keep reading because I thought that was just how her character was keep reading an she's going on outing with "friends" I don't even recolonize her anymore I thought suffering was a constant loop in this series I was wrong! I loved making light of the bad situations she got herself into they were entertain~ I still love the fuck out of the manga Tomoko is like some sort of Goddess of Suffering to me She'll "drown you in despair" >> [_] Anonymous 08/10/16(Wed)01:56:41 No.3130053 >>3130050 Yeah, but at least Tomoko's "bad situations" are just really awkward and kind of uncomfortable social scenarios that her ego minimizes. Machi is an unconfident shrinking violet who aspires to this wonderfully naive goal that's so realistic (being accepted as just a normal city girl) and yet is assaulted with physical/sexual harassment and berating by her peers (you know, the people who are supposed to be supporting her), exploitation by Yoshio and Kuma. The people around her at times force her into situations she doesn't even want to be in, and then make light of her emotional/mental suffering that she incurs in the process. And at the end of the day, she has nothing to show for it other than another notch in the trauma belt she'll take to her therapist some day. These are two different characters with two different sets of circumstances. I stopped watching Watamote because I was getting bored with Status Quo Is God being the rule. I forced myself, kicking and screaming, to watch Kuma Miko in the hopes that all the misery to befall this 14-year-old girl would amount to something of substance, that there was some purpose to it. In the end, I was not only disappointed, I was disgusted by everything I'd watched. >> [_] Anonymous 08/10/16(Wed)01:59:22 No.3130055 I kind of think the point of this flash is to summarize the points being made in this thread. the jarring contrast between gooshy kawaii happy happy song and the look of emotional trauma in that girl's eyes. >HAPPY DAYYYYYY! >I have gazed into the abyss and there is only despair for me in this world >> [_] Anonymous 08/10/16(Wed)02:12:12 No.3130063 >>3130031 more like why a bunch of faggots liked the show >> [_] Anonymous 08/10/16(Wed)03:55:06 No.3130091 >>3129998 Also, her best friend is a talking bear. >> [_] Anonymous 08/10/16(Wed)04:17:16 No.3130094 desu i wasn't going to watch the show until this thread >> [_] Anonymous 08/10/16(Wed)04:32:34 No.3130098 good song tho |
