I'll try to break it down.
>Hooligan defends girl from other hooligans
>She becomes infatuated with him
>He tries to dismiss her because he's a hooligan and she's (presumably) a good girl
>She eventually breaks through and they enter a loving relationship
>Early on they contemplate marriage but they're not in a position for it and they both agree to
not do it
>He opens up his own shop (can't speak moonrunes so idk what kind of shop, maybe a mechanic? Look
at the jumpsuit and the motorcycle in the back)
>First child is born
>Times are rough and he has to close the shop
>Daughter goes off to college
>Has to get a new job to support his wife and himself
>Boss is an asshole and work sucks (presumably since it's Japan it's even worse)
>He takes it out at home
>Begins drinking
>Wife understands and stays loyal
>Begins adultering and wife is heartbroken
>He comes home and finds her passed out
>Doctor says she has a terminal illness and she doesn't have much time left
>He sees the error of his ways
>Cares for her in her illness (but she's numb to it all, both because of adultering and her
terminal illness)
>Takes on multiple jobs and saves money
>He buys the dress he saw all those years ago and gives it to her
>She sees his true love and forgives him
>She's quickly reaching the end of her illness (I guess portrayed by her getting old quickly? Or
maybe she's wasting away)
>He tries to halt the passage of time so he can spend it all with her
>She tells him it's ok and to let go
>She passes
>He's ok with it
I'm assuming the last sequence is an indicator of what will happen when they meet in the
afterlife, young again and able to be together, forever.
