Shame you'd have to nuke literally every western country.

  Music sauce?

Fun fact: nukes aren't as strong as you are made to believe.

Another fun fact: nukes haven't really been tested on modern cities.
Nobody knows how they will really react if exploding in or above said cities.
  Models are inconclusive.

But most likely a large chunk of the damaging blast-wave would be nullified and routed around,
similar to that reaction on metamaterials that make up invisibility cloaks.
Metamaterials are being used to limit damage to off-shore rigs now. The ocean has a huge amount
of energy behind it, especially with tidal waves, both minor and major. They hold up well.

I guess we'd need to use more nukes then ^^

Even if you don't wipe out a city you still irradiate it for a non-trivial period of time.

cool. so i guess we get to see people rationalizing the casual usage of nukes now because trumpo
asked "why don't we use them?"

  >non-trivial
Radiation from nukes lasts 5 weeks on average, 5 months at the most for old shitty nukes. (older
for ones tested back in the stupid ages because they never had the perfect explosion down to the
  T)

Nukes don't leak large amounts of radiation.
The majority of atoms in said nuke are turned in to plasma as hot as the surface of the sun.
The radiation comes from the fusion of new atoms during said explosion, for the most part, which
  are very low-level radioactive elements.

Most nukes would be enriched to the point of being as destructive as possible, not radioactive as
  possible.
Why would you, given a nuclear war, want to irradiate a competing country? You'll not be able to
  lay claim to it.
MAD prevents radioactive nukes. But it doesn't prevent a winner. Never has since the first nukes
  went off.

Someone didn't pay attention in physics class. Even in weapons that use fusion, the primary
explosion is caused by fission, which produces very "high-level" radioactive material, to use
  your language.

  > Radiation from nukes lasts 5 weeks on average
Have you even heard the term half-life? Not only are you wrong, but the very notion of radiation
lasting a certain amount of time on average is nonsensical, especially when applied to the wide
variety of different fission products a nuke produces,

  >Even in weapons that use fusion, the primary explosion is caused by fission
No shit. They still vaporise most of the material in said explosion.

All the radioactive elements are formed from light elements in very unstable light isotopes.
That's why it lasts a very short time.

The most damaging radiation that comes from a nuke is the instant blast of gamma radiation.
The rest of it IS trivial.
The worst damage is the top-soil layer, and it, again, is mostly gone by 5 weeks, or several
months in the case of old, shitty nukes that have been stuck in facilities for decades.

Can we all agree though, that exterminating the worlds Muslims would be a worthy cause? Nuke
Mecca, send them back to hell with their satanic prophet their pedophile warlord!

Islam is one of the few faith's where devotees become more evil the more they follow it.

  7x7x7, faget.

After 7 hours, 90% is gone.
After 49 hours, 99% is gone.
After 343 hours, 99.9% is gone.
After that 2 weeks, you can safely walk around with a hazmat.
Hell, after 2 days, you can spend 1/2 hours outside if you ABSOLUTELY NEED TO, and still keep
  your risk of cancer low.

  Highly radioactive shit decays EXPONENTIALLY.
There's no such thing as highly-radioactive and long-term in the same sentence. Besides that one.
