It's coming
Steam Summer Sale will go live on June 22. Discounts start at 1 p.m. ET

It is a shame that the Daily and Flash sales are no longer a thing. It is just different
recommendations now. The prices remain the same the entire time.

That's the idea. You don't have to wait for a flash sale anymore.

you make it sound like they are doing you a favor
fuck valve and screw "their" sales. steam is just a distribution platform, one that takes a huge
cut from the people actually making the things you play. im tired of people using Gabe as a meme.
he doesn't do shit except rake in money and probably wouldnt lift his fat arm to pull you out of
a burning car.
instead of meming it up with steam and "lord gaben" how about being thankful to the companies
that make the games and decides to sell them to you for a lower price?

THIS.
I've purchased precious little through Steam, though my library is large.
I liked to buy supporter stamps for community-dev maps on TF2, but then I found out how they cut
the money up (forget that Valve has abandoned their second-to-flagship title).
Fuck that, and sorry to devs who whore through Steam.
Get some self-respect and get a real gig.
*looking at YOU, Sean Cutino*
I'll but again if you do.
Don't even get me STARTED on the fucking Greenlight debacle.
IT COULD HAVE BEEN GREAT, YOU KILLED IT IN THE CRADLE.

in Dota 2 cosmetic items are very popular. valve USED to take 75% of the money made from them.
that's pretty fucking terrible.
but it's worse today, they take 87.5%! gee, how generous and fair valve is to the people that
actually create the content for their game.
if you think apple is bad when they take 30% when selling on their app store, valve is much
worse. it's variable though, the biggest companies can negotiate better deals but you can bet
your sweet ass that valve takes more than 30% on every sale.
then there's the whole thing with marketing gambling to children. instead of selling the items
you actually want you need to buy a million chests in order to actually get what you want. then
they artificially increase the value for these things with hype and rarity and "allow" people to
sell them on the community market so that valve keeps earning money on them again and again.
virtual items, copied bytes, jpgs. using every casino trick there is to make the kids spin again
and again.
let's not forget when they tried to make mods paid as well with the shittiest system ever that
dropped from nowhere out of the blue. and when people complained "lord gaben" came off like a
huge douche that we should be grateful that he even bothered to reply on twitter.
if i can help reduce the influence valve has over the direction gaming on PC is going im going to
do whatever it takes. of course i dont give them any money but i also take the time to bother
writing posts like this. they probably come off like really whiny but damn it, they are the truth.

if you get the item from a chest you got from the Battle Pass the artist that made the item gets
0%. nothing! working for free.
"seems fair" -valve

I never played Dota 2, but I know exactly what you're talking about.
Yes, Valve has found the way to apply "Casino Stats" to virtually everything in their universe...
just take it with a grain of salt, I suppose.
Keep doing Kek's Work, anon, it's appreciated.

>me again
Also..
I got DOZENS of TF2 chests going back at least 6 years, and have refused to buy a single key to
date.
Funny ppplz don't even want to trade anything for a "relatively rare" munition crate or cos-case.
This should be a warning sign to Valve, but nuuuuuuuu.... they will just keep pumping out the
Next big Thing.
That being said, Steam still runs circles around Origin or any of the other proprietary
circlejerks out there with complete SHIT for titles.
YEAH, LOOKING AT YOU EA, BLIZZARD!

if the game is only out on Steam i pirate it instead of buying it. if not cracked yet i just play
something else, there a lot out today.
also remember to always check the dev's homepage before buying on any platform. direct buy = 100%
of the money goes to the devs
