So how was he able to beat them all at once when in the previous episode he couldn't even catch
up with them?

his fear from before was weighing him down.
in the second conflict he had found his resolve.
His memory of his dad gave him the courage he needed.
also, environmental advantage. out in the open but with nowhere for them to hide, plus they kind
of stand out in the snow.

>Episode 2: While mentally unhinged, Jack gets caught off guard, is systematically disarmed and
surrounded, gets stabbed, still manages to take one out after getting into territory that's not
pre-scouted by the enemy
>Episode 3: Jack heals up, has learned what each of them can do, scouts out the territory and
this time finds ways of taking them out one by one instead of all at once
You'll note when the three remaining girls team up they manage to wound him again, which is why
Jack lead them up to the fallen tree where they had to take him on one at a time, and where they
died one at a time.
Their strengths were in planning, numbers and surprise. In the second they lost planning and
surprise, and so lost their numbers too.

was it all just that?
I was under impression that they were faster/stronger than him (similar to those ultra sand
robots from the previous series) and needed an extra training/planning to beat them but at the
end he just killed half of them with bare hands
also I thought they were gonna kill him when he was taking a breather from swinging that spiked
bat around but I guess they were tired as well

Make your own conclusions.
They're barely teenage girls filled with training and ferocity and nearly took down a man with
lifetimes of training, and a vehicle full of high tech weaponry in a surprise attack.
Then he kills most of them.

Who is the Samurai on the horse? Did he make jack lose his sword in that abyss? Is that guy a
bigger bad than Aku? Is he the leader of the clan that the daughters of aku are from? So many
questions.

He shows up when Jack's on a verge of death so that might be one of the horsemen of apocalypse -
Death

running theory is that he is death, constantly reminding jack of his mortality, and anytime jack
is weak or doubts he will survive, the horseman will appear

Back then, he was still hesitant to become a person-killer. But after he had already become one,
and his father's words came back to him, he gained the courage.
