I still find it funny how ive literally never had a single problem with vlc but people bitch
about it all the time.

the people that bitch about it were people that used it back when it really was this fucked. I
remember watching anime with it back like 5 years ago and holy shit it was fucked. it has
improved a lot but I still prefer mpc-hc

I have used VLC since 2003 and I don't think it has ever been that bad, I started using mpc-hc
after VLC started feeling more bloated.

I used it for anime legit 7 years ago and only ever experienced mild artifacting.
It's like everyone complaining about Sims 3 performance being awful, yet I never had a bad time
with it.

Just because something works doesn't mean it couldn't be better. There is no excuse for using VLC
when better alternatives are free and easy to download and install.

VLC is free, baka.
You don't need CCCP and other chinkshit codecs and malware to watch Japanese cartoons. VLC is
literally all you need right now.

I think all the complaints are from people with 30 year old overheating graphics cards.

Well time to watch ゆるゆり again (on VLC)
>> [_] Anonymous 03/18/17(Sat)01:09:39 No.3225785
I enjoyed how easy VLC was to use compared to fiddling with codecs.
But it became too much of a botnet.
Switched over to MPCHC as well to work up that grafics card power and it shows.
Using CCCP, KCP and XYsub for subtitle display.
Works like a charm and KCP really takes a lot off madVR customizing which can be very difficult.

pretty much this, also MPC is less than 1meg and performs better. Only reason I use VLC desu is
because it can go 200% volume and for the occasional DVD (lol who watches dvds in 2017?)

Same. Sometimes when I go shopping I'll crank my speakers up and play that 'Interior Crocodile
Alligator' rap at 200% volume until I get back.

I was using VLC a few months ago and I had to deal with this kind of problem all the time,
obviously not this extent though.
