Ironically, the whole name thing has overshadowed the actual political content of the episode; John Oliver's criticism was basically that Trump lacks a coherent plan of action as a president, and that his qualifications from the business world are false, continuing on to say that Trump has ridden a wave of (undeserved) brand recognition to his position in the election. Whether or not this is true is certainly debatable, but that is the actual content of Oliver's criticism, which seems to have been lost. It's ironic, because the whole Drumpf thing is supposed to be a way to wrap up that criticism into an easily digestible package, but has actually totally overshadowed the criticism itself.
