holy shit, 16 years... i almost cant believe it. happy birthday windows xp! makes me sad to think
of the state of windows 10 today, i was really surprised of the direction microsoft took after
  windows 7.

i was late changing to XP, stuck around with Windows ME until 2003 or something. i remember
everybody thinking i was nuts but i was the only one that didnt have problems with it. probably
finally got a virus and had to change

apparently ME was released in the year 2000, i had no idea XP was released just a year
afterwards. the OS releases rained close in those days. unfortunately 10 is said to be the final
version that'll just get updated from now on, hopefully they will change their policies before i
actually start to get limited by 7

this windows xp song is so soothing btw, very nice. i do miss the special little startup themes
that each windows release used to have

I wish I could pinpoint the moment in time when we upgraded to windows XP, but my eldest brother
covertly did so on the family PC, and I was a dumb kid at the time so I didn't really notice the
  change.

I remember how blown away I was when I saw little icons of pictures and movies that were stored
  in the folder

also I've never heard any of those songs. Where were they hidden?

Windows XP will always be my favourite OS.

when will user experience be a thing again
i miss my OS making noises, saying goodbye to me at night and hello to me in the morning
i don't like everything being flat shades or straight gradients, random cgi logos for default
  icons/backgrounds
it's cold and lifeless and not comfy at all

You spend far too much time with computer. It's not healthy.
