All-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil

1 medium onion, sliced
8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced

1 (10 3/4-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
Salt and black pepper
1 cup sour cream
Cooked egg noodles

Maybe it's because I've seen this about fifty times or how ever many the fuck times this has been
reposted, but there's a certain truth to it not having to be beef. You can 'replace' meat in a
lot of recipes with the right kind of mushrooms without much deviation in taste and seasonings.
This is because the textures are very similar, alongside the fact that the seasoning makes up a
good part of the taste. Obviously the only problem that arises is that it's not a true
replacement in the sense that nutritionally they're just different.
The recipe itself isn't very consistent (it's 'supposed' to be floured beef, mustard, broth and
sour cream), mostly because it's been everywhere and has the historical background of 'russians
trying to emulate french cooking'. Also their cutting techniques are amateurish, not 'horrible',
just really amateurish. Although I really doubt it was intentional, but the incompetence
portrayed is just about how most people actually go about doing it.
Seriously most people can't cook worth shit. Just look at /ck/ or anything tagged cooking on
whatever social networks there are. I think there's a good excuse for all of this, mainly the
whole part about how this anime isn't actually cooking related? I'unno.
