it's a nice story but i hate when someone talks about social progress or the advancement of
society like there is a backwards direction and forwards direction. there's just states in all
kinds of directions.
personally i don't think it's fair to force anyone to like everybody. freedom goes both ways.

forwards is in the direction of more convenience, more health, better understanding of the
universe, better controls over the vagaries of nature.
backwards is anything that takes you in the other direction: religious fundamentalism, for
example.

Except of course, apple trees don't spread their seeds themselves. Hence the saying "the apple
doesn't fall very far from the tree". If anything the "Parasitism" experienced by non-racist
trees would enable them to propagate further due to human consumption of apples. Not to mention
most apple trees in the world today are planted deliberately, and it's likely most people would
prefer to have cultivars of trees which were not racist.
