Swfchan is back from the dead, just in time for the holidays, and so is this little game. Let's
just jump right in.
Read the intro description carefully. And the help text you should have asked for.
If you are stuck or got any questions, feel free to request vague hints in this thread.
When you're in a room, look (at the room), just press "l". Doing this will refresh the room with
all changes applied. It should be your go-to command.
"e THING" examines THINGs, do that with everything/every person
every THING has a short name (you see in brackets when examining)
e.g. The "Virtuanet Portalizer" is also the "portalizer"
Talk to everyone!
Pick up stuff. Don't eat (important) stuff, like cum (no shit).
Common mistakes: Type only "n" to go "north" (upwards). Typing "go north" would search for a
portal named "north".
And don't forget to pick up that gateway, else you're fucked! No, really. I tried tricking it
with dying and rebirthing, but you can't do that while online, and you would still log back at
the same spot without it, so...
Just go wild, like in your zorkest dreams.

I always loved this game. It's funny to think that the year 2010 was the distant future at the
time.
I always especially loved the song you get when you win the game. I actually like it more in the
low-bit compressed version used year than the actual version.
The threads /f/ had for several days as we tried to figure out how to beat it together were great.

It's been so long since I last played it, I don't quite remember all the steps. It's a trip down
memory lane.
The thing is like a time capsule for 4chan too. It was always a tragedy this wasn't put in the
flash archive.

I feel as you do anon, it was a genuine mystery to me back in the day, as noone shared his
progress just past that one point you got stuck on back then. And a genuine feel of achievement
when I finally figured it out.

I got more accustomed to it with time, from my yearly playthroughs. I can more or less walk
through it without having to consult anything but my brain. I still come across that one step I
forgot everytime though and take a while to remember (NIGGERTITS).
Yeah, the flash archive is most likely forgotten by everyone at this point. Only high profile
creators with multiple swfs were featured. Still it feels like this swf truly encapsulates an era
of 4chan and would be worthy to be featured there. In the end I decided to just make my own
archive (aka collection) at swfchan.

And so another run comes to an end.
I really like to play this flash while browsing /f/ and other boards at the same time. Gives your
browsing more variation. It just needs that many hours to do it, even when you know exactly what
to do.

Well, there is the cheat code that was introduced because the first version of the game was
discovered to have a broken bit at almost the very end. That way once it was fixed, people could
go right back to the end game areas without needing to repeat the early ones.
Of course then you're skipping most of the game, which defeats the purpose with a game like this.
I only used it when I wanted to hear the victory music quickly since it's my favorite.
The game is like concentrated nostalgia. I wonder how many people would have trouble with it now
due to the older memes.
