Interesting, I never knew so much quality control went into eggs, I thought they just cleaned
them, checked for cracks, and then it's on to the recycled paper cartons and trays.
Also, I love the dumb cheesy puns in this show, can you believe there are people out there who
don't?

truly remarkable how genius humans are
the peta "oh no this is bad" narrative didnt arrive until the very end but it should be obvious
to anybody what happens to hens that dont lay quality eggs.
no tears from me, people has to eat and we breed these things with one purpose. they'd eat your
eye balls of they could. the cages actually didn't even look bad, there are far worse.

humans are killed when they retire. that's the difference.
as soon as chickens outlive their productivity they're killed.

People retire when they are incapable of working any longer. They then live on socialized
healthcare (usually really terrible in most countries) until they die from neglect or disease. We
do not live in a world where you make a shitton of money and retire a millionaire, friend.

except humans aren't actually killed, they die of failure within their body due to age related

everyone dies from something. it doesn't matter if it's "neglect" or "disease" however you chose
to pull that out of your ass.
it's unavoidable.
perhaps if those old people decided to treat their children properly, they wouldn't need to vote
for the government to force their children to pay for their medicine at gunpoint. "socialized
medicine" as you put it for some reason.

Humans exist for more than just reproduction.
Accumulation of knowledge, spreading of information, command structuring, etc. Our purpose
extends beyond production of sustenance. However, we live in a world where killing the incapable
is only something the third world and socialist nations do. For social reasons, in the first
world, we "allow" (generally by force of law) those with extreme mental or physical disabilities
to live until death by old age or natural health complications.
So the argument comparing our treatment of chickens and humans is not entirely flawed.
>> [_] Anonymous 12/20/17(Wed)16:30:50 No.3302788
Find your excuse:
>Humans have to eat somehow
That doesn't mean we have to be needlessly cruel to our livestock
>They're just chickens
All animals we raise as livestock are vertebrates capable of feeling pain. It doesn't matter how
stupid a species is if it's still capable of suffering.
>hurr durr they'd do the same to us if they could
WE ARE NOT AT WAR WITH FARM ANIMALS
>life's not fair/that's just how the world is
Except we're not a bunch of baboons, incapable of realizing when we're causing distress in other
creatures. We know fully well that automating farms involves stuffing live animals in cramped
spaces for their entire lives. That argument might as well just be "we don't know any better"
which is complete horse shit
>but it's so tasty LOL
hahahaha EPIC!!!!!!!
>we bred them for the sole purpose of meat production
Just because they've been domesticated doesn't mean they can't feel pain ffs. Everything will be
fine as soon as someone breeds their sense of pain out, but obviously that's easier said than done
>we're saving them from themselves
We're causing more pain over their short lives than they'd feel from being killed by a predatory
animal in the wild.
>but stopping involves killing a ton of farm animals at once!
and then never again.
You people are trying so hard to avoid agreeing with some liberal hippy PETA douche that you're
willing to perpetuate the suffering of billions of animals in the process. It's fucking sickening.
Stay mad, part of you knows I'm right.
>> [_] Anonymous 12/20/17(Wed)16:34:10 No.3302791
>>3302785
Chickens don't know or care what purpose humans gave them. They can still feel pain just like a
wild bird would. Pretty much all animals feel pain, even if they don't react the same way as
humans.

I'm not trying to make an argument for the guy. I'm just not dismissing it on a false premise.
I live on a farm where I raise cage-free chickens. I incur a lot of losses thanks to hawks and
coyotes, but I do cherish them and give them what I believe to be good lives. It's not fun waking
up one morning to find that your 24 chickens are now 6 and that your daily egg supply of nearly a
dozen is now just one or two.
It's expensive as hell to do this. I'm sure I can drop the costs by a shit ton by restricting
their lives, but I'm not trying to feed a country here, just my family. The benefits of the cost
reduction are marginal at best for me, while in large industries it could easily equate to
millions of dollars.
