I didn't want to imply that nothing was sexualized, like in a sexual scene duh, but rather that
it wasn't the point of every show to shove as much tits and pantsushots in your face as
annonyingly possible.
There were lots of shows like that back then too, but it wasn't every goddamn fucking show every
season.
Don't know if that would count as balloon tits also, it's far from ridicously huge breasts.

Not the other guy but that's just what you get with optimization. Want to make money? Clearly
fan-service is the way to go. Add as widely-varied a cast as you can and pit them against each
other for the attention of one lanky highschool student. Banner wavers and self-inserters abound
as the money rolls in.
Though there are still some good anime made these days, it's just not extremely common.
Personally, I don't know where to start looking for good content on my own so I mostly rely on
the input of anime reviewers like Gigguk or Digibro.
But to make some suggestions of my own, I highly recommend checking out Made in Abyss, One Punch
Man, My Hero Academia, and others that'll surely be mentioned by the fellows I brought up.
Though if mainstream anime is a bit too obnoxious, I don't really have anything to offer other
than Kids on the Slope. Not exactly a new one but it's really good and I hear basically no one
talk about it ever.

Oh! And Inuyashiki. That one's about an old man and a clinically verifiable psychopathic
highschool student who get run over by aliens who fucked up their warp drive and have to jettison
their automated weapons systems as ballast (I guess) to let them take leave. But then the weapons
assimilate with the obliterated bodies of the student and the old man and they wake up as
machine-people with near-godlike powers.
